September's Employee of the Month is Deanna!

Deanna has been a part of the team for over a year now
and is on our care staff team in the building. She loves
working at Hazel Dell because she feels like she is part of a
family, both with the team and from the residents. Dee
loves vacationing with her family. She loves worship music
and going to church. She also enjoys nutrition and working
out to stay strong. Dancing is her favorite thing to do. Make
sure to say hi to Dee next time you see her. Thank you for
being such a great part of our Hazel Dell family, Dee!

September's Featured Resident is Kathy Brooks!

Kathy and her fur baby, Batman, have been a
part of our community for over 3 years. Kathy
was born and raised in Moses Lake, WA. She
worked as a cashier for several years then spent
her time working the hardest job—being a
mother to her daughter. Some of her favorite
memories are watching her daughter grow up,
which reminded her of her own wonderful
childhood in Moses Lake. Some of Kathy’s
hobbies are crafts, including the best part of any
craft... shopping for the supplies! Kathy shares
her apartment with her 20-lb. black cat named
Batman. Make sure to say hi to Kathy if you see
her. Thanks for being a part of our community,
Kathy!

This Friday a few residents from Hazel Dell got to explore the Pearson Air Field museum and hangar space. The tour is self guided and completely free of cost! The National Park Service has created such a wonderful preserved place of history. Not only does it cover local aviation history, but also has a full to-scale model and thorough historical counts of the spruce mill that took up the area where Pearson and Fort Vancouver are now during WWI. We had a ton of fun learning about some well earned local history!
