I’ve spoken so many times about the newborn exam, but can anyone else just speak to how ✨different✨ newborn care is at a home birth, with midwives, compared to hospital care?

This affects me so deeply every time. The respect. The love. The gentleness. The intention.

If you have amazing insurance, you might find cheaper care (most of the time, you won’t). But you absolutely, hands-down, will not find more intentional, more thoughtful, more loving care than a home birth midwife.

I’ve experienced it. And I’ve been the one giving it.

It’s unreal, the difference.

And honestly, the only way you could really know, is to experience it yourself.

If you have unopened, unexpired supplies left from your birth kits, consider donating them to us! We collect donations and save them for families who need help gathering their supplies.

If you have supplies you want to donate, reach out, and we can coordinate an office drop-off.

Abide Midwifery 2025 Birth Statistics

I’m so very thankful for every single family who trusted us to be their midwifery team for 2025. Every mom worked so hard to meet their baby, and every birth was beautiful to experience and be a part of.

I got to serve 4 repeat families this year, which was an exciting first for me, and was approved to be a student preceptor in late spring. I have since gotten to work with two wonderful students, Krissy and Holly, who have made Abide Midwifery even more rich than it was.

Additionally, I did get to attend several births with/ for other midwives in the community ♥️ I always love the beautiful midwifery community we have here, and am thankful I get to be a part of it.

She was born peacefully at home, a week before her due date, with the very best team of people in attendance. Two of her three older sisters ended up being present for her birth as well, which was so special. ♥️

I hope everyone had the best holiday season with family and friends, and that you are taking time in the new year to rest ♥️

I am due with our sweet baby girl any time! My official “due date” is January 11th, but as we all know, babies can come weeks before or weeks after that day.

Any guesses for when baby Green will make her appearance? For reference:
Anora—> 40+2
Emmy—> 40+1
Valor —> 39+5
