Burch Live Farm Sales Futurity coming up June 19, 2027 in Seward, Nebraska!

Lambs purchased through the qualifying Burch sales — including the 2027 Heavy Hitters Live Sale — will have the opportunity to come back and compete in this futurity.

We’re very excited for our 2027 lamb crop!! Follow along with us for updates of these lambs. If you can’t make the sale swing by the barn anytime before to check them out.

We appreciate Burch Livestock continuing to create opportunities like this for their breeders, buyers, and especially the youth exhibitors.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO PASS RSG STANDARDS?🧬

When it comes to frozen semen, quality matters. RSG uses established QC standards to evaluate each product and help ensure it meets our expectations before use.

✅ RSG PASS standards include:
• At least 30 million live cells
• 50% or greater live cells
• Progression greater than two cell lengths per second
• Less than 15% abnormal morphology

❌ A sample will FAIL if it has:
• Fewer than 30 million live cells
• Below 40% live cells
• Progression of less than one body length per second
• Greater than 15% abnormal morphology

Products that meet RSG Pass standards are considered suitable for use in LAI or ET procedures. RSG standards are a way we work to provide confidence in the reproductive products you use.

Another successful LAI day in the books! 🐑🐐

This past week we had the opportunity to LAI a great set, and we truly couldn’t have asked for better weather.

The Lord blessed us with perfect conditions from start to finish, and we’re so thankful for that!

A huge thank you to Reproduction Specialty Group, Inc.for sending another outstanding veterinary crew and Burch Livestock, LLC - Kolby, Micky & Miles Burch for sending us high quality semen. 🔬🧪

To all of the breeders who trusted us with your females this year—thank you! 🙏

It takes a village to make LAI day run smoothly. We’re incredibly grateful for every helping hand!

We’re not done yet! Later this week, RSG will be back for embryo flush and transfer day, where we’ll flush our donor ewes and transfer those embryos into our recipient ewes. 🧫

The 2026 Marshall County Fair Teen, Teen Photogenic, and Teen Congenitally has earned many achievements already this week. This was not one of the first lambs to leave our barn and she deserves every bit of this. We could not be more proud of this hardworking gal!!!

Estrumate is scheduled for this morning! Make sure your ewes receive their injection as outlined in the protocol to help keep everything on schedule for breeding day.

This morning also marks the beginning of our donor shot journey! ⛰️🙃

We’re getting one step closer to LAI Day on July 22. We appreciate everyone’s attention to detail throughout the protocol—it makes all the difference in a successful lambing season.
