Two more wellness darlings are headed into giant corporate portfolios.

Purely Elizabeth has agreed to be acquired by Ferrero, the multinational that also owns WK Kellogg. Thorne has agreed to be acquired by Procter & Gamble after spending the last three years under private equity ownership.

For us, Thorne was already off the list.

In 2021, Thorne required employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing. That did not force every employee to take the shot, but it still turned a personal medical decision into a condition of the workplace.

We believe in medical freedom for everyone. Whether someone chose vaccination or refused it, that decision belonged to the individual. Period.

Does a corporate buyout automatically make every product bad? No. But it changes who ultimately controls the brand, and formulas, sourcing, priorities and policies can change next.

And yes, Ferrero is family-owned. It is also a massive multinational conglomerate. A label alone never tells the entire story.

Read the ingredients. Follow the ownership. Spend intentionally.
