24-day cycle.
Then 36.
Random spotting.
Suddenly heavy periods.
Waking up at 3 AM.
Your b***s hurt.
You’re anxious.
And your husband chewing is somehow a personal attack.

Welcome to perimenopause. 😂

Peri can change cycle length, bleeding patterns, sleep, mood, energy and the way you feel throughout different phases of your cycle.

Your cycle is one of the most useful windows you have into what your hormones are doing.

And there is SO much more you can do than simply wait for menopause.

Nutrition.
Nervous system support.
Sleep.
Targeted supplementation.
Herbs.
And, when appropriate, hormone support.

Understanding your cycle patterns gives you useful information about what may need support.

This is exactly why I created The Perfect Period Protocol + Perimenopause Reset.

It’s the practical hormone-support roadmap I wish every woman had BEFORE her cycle started going rogue.

Perimenopause has made me increasingly intolerant of anything in my life that isn’t working.

And frankly? I think that might be one of its gifts.

Yes, I ran labs.

Yes, I adjusted my hormone + supplement protocol.

But I also changed my calendar.

My mornings.

The way I fed myself and my family.

How much I expected myself to accomplish in a day.

And maybe most importantly, I started asking a question that women are rarely encouraged to ask:

What would make my life feel better to actually LIVE?

Not more productive.
Not more optimized.

But actually better.

More spacious. More pleasurable. More like mine.

I wrote about the wake-up call that started all of this in this week’s Substack, What My Hormones Taught Me About Motherhood.

Comment MARGIN and I’ll send it to you.

We love a hormone “fix.”

Progesterone. Estrogen. DIM. Vitex. Magnesium. Another supplement.

And sometimes those things can be incredibly helpful.

But zoom out.

What is the environment those hormones are operating in?

How are you sleeping?
Are you eating enough?
Are you recovering from your workouts?
Are you nutrient deficient?
Are you chronically stressed?
Does your life contain any actual margin?

I had to ask myself ALL of these questions this year.

I wrote about what I found and what I changed in my newest Substack.

I love being a mom.
I also never want motherhood to consume so much of me again that I forget who I am outside of it.

Perimenopause brought that realization into VERY sharp focus.

And strangely, I’m grateful for it.

I wrote about the whole messy wake-up call, including what was happening with my hormones and what I actually changed.

Remember when weighted vests were EVERYWHERE?

And now… crickets.

They didn’t suddenly stop working. The internet just found something new to obsess over.

That’s the problem with building your wellness routine from social media.

The algorithm is designed to keep moving. But your health requires consistency.

The boring thing you started six months ago might still be exactly what your body needs.

And the buzzy new thing all over your feed might have absolutely nothing to do with your goals.

You don’t need more wellness trends.

You need a strategy that makes sense for your body, your goals, and this phase of your life.

Stop letting your health plan expire with the algorithm.

I have, in fact, spent a meaningful amount of time, money, and energy trying to figure out what is actually worth it in midlife.

Some things deserve the hype.
Some things are fine.
Some things are wildly over-marketed.

And some things should not be purchased before you’re eating enough, sleeping enough and lifting weights.

These are my honest ratings based on what I’ve tried, what I use, what I recommend, and what I think actually earns its place after 40.

And yes, you are welcome to disagree with me in the comments. 😉

Which one are you fighting me on?

Comment MIDLIFE if you want the full guide and I’ll DM it to you.

Your hair usually isn’t the problem.

It’s often the receipt.

One of the first things I look at when a woman tells me her hair is suddenly shedding:

Low ferritin.
Too little protein.
Chronic under-eating.
Thyroid function that’s technically “normal” but far from optimal.
Rapid weight loss.
Perimenopausal hormone shifts.
Months or years of running on cortisol.

And yes, sometimes the body is still carrying the physiological fallout from stress and trauma long after the crisis itself has passed.

This is why I’m not interested in throwing another hair gummy or $90 serum at the problem before asking WHY the follicle stopped thriving in the first place.

Find the root cause. Correct what’s depleted. Feed the body. Support the hormones.

Then layer in the sexy stuff like peptides, topicals, red light, microneedling, and PRP.

I broke down my full hair-growth process, plus the skincare, hormones, peptides, treatments, and healthy-aging tools I think are actually worth it after 40, in Part Two of my Midlife Essentials Guide.

You probably don’t need another $$ serum.

You may need a better hierarchy.

Real nutrition. Recovery. Hydration. SPF. Retinoid. Antioxidant support. Barrier repair.

Get those right first.

THEN we can talk growth factors, copper peptides, red light, microneedling, and all the fun expensive stuff.

I put my entire midlife skincare hierarchy, including what I use and what I skip, into Part Two of my Midlife Essentials Guide.

Comment MIDLIFE and I’ll send it over.
