One thing that is always asked when you come into an office to get a diagnostic evaluation of your hearing or as we like to call it DE is if you’ve ever had one before. Most people think that they have had a full hearing test before, but an actuality they’ve only had a hearing screening hearing screenings are the ones that you just hear the beeps and you indicate as to whether you’ve heard it or not, but a diagnostic evaluation is more thorough and goes more in depth so what is DE?

A diagnostic hearing test is a comprehensive, non-invasive evaluation performed by an audiologist or hearing insterment specialist to determine the exact type, degree, and cause of hearing loss. Using a sound-treated booth and specialized equipment, it goes beyond basic screenings to assess ear health, middle ear function, and nerve pathways, resulting in a personalized, actionable treatment plan.
