On August 19, Julie Beery of Workforce Chaplains presided over a memorial service at Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation for Susan Hickey, an esteemed ASC housekeeper of ten years who passed away in July.

Executive Director, Brian Bailey, concluded the service by formally renaming Station Two as Sue’s Villa in her memory.

In an effort to find relief from the hot temperatures, the residents at Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation gathered together to enjoy some fun outdoor activities, including a water balloon toss and a playful water fight.

🏡 Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation celebrates a Rehabilitation-to-Home Success Story! 💙

At 93 years young, this incredible resident faced a long road to recovery after a fall and leg fracture. Through determination, encouragement, and hard work with our therapy team, she made remarkable progress and successfully reached her goal of returning home to her husband. 🏠❤️

When asked about her experience, she shared, “For one thing, the people have been wonderful. They have been kind and thoughtful and friendly.”

We are so proud to have been part of Jean's journey home! Her story is a wonderful reminder that progress takes perseverance, and every step matters. 🌟
