I donāt want this to be a click-bait message so Iāll begin with the end.
Iāve decided to close The Rising Studio space on 14th avenue downtown. The Rising Birth Doula support and Education remain and continue to grow. Iām still very much here and now able to take more clients than before!
When I opened this space it was with an intention of curiosity for how mothers needed to be supported. I saw gaps in birth education, birth support, postpartum support and community care.
I jumped into a business model meant to address all of these..which was a huge undertaking and I was thrilled to do it. While I found real joy in all parts of owning a physical space and was wildly surprised by how we all showed up here, I required myself to take inventory after year one. The clear data showed that while I spent 90% of my efforts and time maintaining this physical space and creating events/classes to sustain it, the large majority of impact and income came from outside of the studio- at births, in coffee shops and in homes with new mothers. Moving deeper into this work and serving in the way I want, I knew something had to give. And finally, most importantly, as a mother..I miss my children and I want more time with them.
To support mothers the way I know Iām gifted to while also supporting my family, what I have to give away is this beautiful studio.
Our last day in studio will be May 31st.
