On this day, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the families forever changed. We honor their memory, their courage, and their sacrifice.
We will never forget. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø

Everyone’s nervous system doesn’t regulate the same way, and everyone doesn’t have the same experience in therapy.

What helps one person feel grounded may not help someone else. Some people need to talk it out, some need space, some need movement, and some need time to even figure out what they’re feeling.

The same goes for therapy. One approach may be incredibly helpful for one person and not feel right for another. That doesn’t mean therapy isn’t working or that someone is doing it wrong. Sometimes we simply need something different.

We all have different experiences, different needs, and different ways of processing what we’ve been through.

So try not to compare your growth to someone else’s.

There is no one right way to regulate, grow, or experience therapy. Find what works for you!

What if your child’s anger is protecting something they love?

The yelling, crying, ā€œNOā€, or meltdown may be more than difficult behavior.

Underneath the anger might be a child protecting their need for connection, fairness, independence, safety, or belonging.

Instead of only asking, ā€œHow do I stop the anger?ā€
try asking, ā€œWhat is this anger trying to tell me?ā€

We can set boundaries around behavior while still making space for the feeling.

I hope you feel a sense of peace the moment you walk through the doors.

Our lobby is more than a waiting space—it’s the beginning of a place where you can exhale, feel supported, and simply be yourself.

You are safe here. You are welcome here. And you don’t have to carry everything alone.

Grateful for the Journey

This week reminded me why I’m so grateful to be a therapist.

Working with children, teens, and adults is a beautiful reminder that therapy is about more than the hard moments. It’s about connection, trust, laughter, growth, and celebrating the little victories.

From seeing kids smile and sharing laughter, to connecting with teens and witnessing adults find strength and hope, I’m reminded how meaningful it is to be part of each person’s journey.

Grateful for the trust, the growth, and all the little moments that make this work so special.

Sometimes peace comes from learning to let the little things go.

Not every comment needs a response.
Not every disagreement needs to become an argument.
Not every inconvenience deserves your energy.
Not everything needs to be fixed, explained, or understood.

Some things simply aren’t worth the stress they create. Protect your peace. Choose your battles. Take a breath. Let some things pass without carrying them with you for the rest of the day.

Life is too short to let every little thing steal your joy.

Let it go. Let yourself breathe. Keep moving forward.

There are so many parts of being a therapist that people don’t see.

The privilege of holding space for someone’s hardest moments. The little breakthroughs. The trust. The laughter.

And some of my favorite parts?

Seeing a child walk out of my office with a smile that wasn’t there when they walked in.

The moment a child laughs for the first time in session.

The person who begins to believe in themselves again.

Those moments are the heart of what I do.

I truly treasure this career and the people who allow me to be part of their journey. What a gift it is to witness healing, one small moment at a time.

September is Su***de Prevention Month

Behind the smiles, the busy schedules, and the ā€œI’m fineā€ responses, so many people are quietly struggling. Sometimes, the people we least expect are the ones who need someone to notice, to ask, and to truly listen.

Please don’t underestimate the power of checking in.

Send the text. Make the phone call. Sit with someone. Ask the difficult question. Listen without trying to immediately fix or minimize what they’re feeling.

And if you’re the person who is struggling right now, I hope you know this: you don’t have to go through it alone. Your pain deserves to be heard, and asking for help is not weakness.

As a therapist, I’m reminded every day that connection matters. Sometimes being willing to have an uncomfortable conversation can make all the difference.

This September, let’s be intentional about looking out for one another.

Fall is around the corner… and I’m ready. šŸ šŸ‚

Living in Florida, one of the things I miss most this time of year is watching the leaves change.

There’s something so beautiful about fall. The colors, the cooler air, the cozy moments—but especially the reminder that change can be beautiful.

As a therapist, I often talk with people about change. Sometimes we resist it. Sometimes we fear what comes next. Sometimes we hold on to what’s familiar simply because it feels safe.

But nature reminds us that change is part of life.

The leaves don’t apologize for changing colors.
They don’t cling to summer.
They simply transition into their next season.

And maybe we can learn something from that.

We can let go of what no longer serves us.
We can make room for something new.
We can honor who we were while becoming who we are meant to be.
