📢 Important Update from Mermaid Vet Hospital
Please note that our hospital will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, August 18, 2026, through Sunday, August 30, 2026, while both of our doctors are away for a family medical procedure.
During this time:
🐾 Our boarding services will continue as scheduled
💊 Medication refills will still be available by request—please contact us as soon as possible to arrange refills and pickup times before or during the closure.
🚨 If your pet experiences a medical emergency while we are closed, please seek care at your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued trust as we take this time to care for our family. We look forward to welcoming you back for regular appointments beginning Monday, August 31, 2026. 💜

Princess Leia came in today for her annual bloodwork and was such a star for her photo with Kerrigan! 👑🐾
Annual bloodwork is an important part of your pet’s preventive care. Even when pets look healthy, routine lab work helps us:
• Establish normal baseline values
• Detect early signs of disease (like kidney, liver, or thyroid changes)
• Monitor organ function as pets age
• Catch concerns before symptoms appear
Dogs and cats age much faster than we do, which means things can change in just a year. Early detection gives us the best chance to treat problems quickly and effectively.
Princess Leia is staying ahead of her health — and that’s the best kind of royal treatment. 💕
