Tomorrow I turn 71. Today I finished my last workout at 70.
For most of my adult life, I've tried to live by one principle:
We can't stop aging. But we can fight for how we age.
Muscle doesn't matter only because of how we look.
Bone density doesn't matter only because of a number on a test.
Metabolic health isn't just about what the scale says.
They are part of our strength, mobility, independence and quality of life.
For more than 35 years, I've coached thousands of people through weight loss. And the older I became, the more convinced I became that simply losing weight was no longer enough.
What are we losing with the weight?
Are we protecting muscle?
Are we becoming metabolically healthier?
Are we building a body capable of carrying us through the next decade of our lives?
Those questions helped lead me to develop Metabolic Body Optimization.
MBO isn't about trying to become 30 again.
It's about understanding the body you have today and giving it the nutrition, training, testing, strategy and accountability it needs for tomorrow.
At 71, I don't expect my body to give me what it gave me at 31.
But I still expect something from myself.
Keep showing up.
Keep learning.
Keep fighting for muscle.
Keep fighting for strength.
Keep fighting for health.
Keep fighting for independence.
Tomorrow begins year 71.
The work continues.
