🩵 A Little Something You May Not Know About The Pink Lady…

It has been years since I shared current photographs of myself.

So this morning, I decided to simply show up as I am.

No professional photographs.
No carefully chosen pink dress.
No branding.

Just me…in my favorite color.

Turquoise. 🩵

People who have known me through my work might be surprised by that.

After all, I have built so much of my professional life around Pink Light. 🌸

But only my closest friends know that turquoise is actually the color I personally adore.

My relationship with pink has a much deeper story.

When I was 12 years old, my beloved Godmother introduced me to the concept of color therapy.

I became fascinated by the idea that color could influence how we feel…that something as seemingly simple as a color could carry energy, emotion, memory and meaning.

I never could have imagined that decades later, Pink Light would become woven into my life’s work.

The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

A place I created for healing, conversation, connection, nature, beauty and transformation.

Pink became more than a color to me.

It became an intention.

A way of bringing tenderness into difficult places.

A reminder that strength does not have to be hard.

That healing can be beautiful.

That softness and power can exist together.

And yet, underneath all that pink…

there has always been a woman who absolutely loves turquoise. 🩵

Maybe that is part of authenticity, too.

We are allowed to be more than the identity the world recognizes.

We can honor what we have created without becoming confined by it.

We can evolve without abandoning our roots.

And after everything life has taught me, I find myself increasingly interested in simply being seen as I am.

Still curious.

Still filled with wonder.

Still loving deeply.

Still creating beauty.

Still believing in the extraordinary power of one meaningful conversation.

And yes…still surrounded by plenty of pink. 🌸

But this morning?

Turquoise. 🩵

🌸 Seventeen Years Beyond the Veil | A Mother’s Love Continues

Today, August 22, marks 17 years since my mother crossed the veil and my biological family ended their relationship with me.

Seventeen years.

And yet love has never understood time.

My relationship with my mother did not end when her physical life ended. It changed form. Her presence lives in memories, in friends, in the woman I have become, in the sacredness I find in nature, and in the ways I have learned to accompany others through grief, healing and transformation.

There is also someone I want to acknowledge today with tremendous gratitude: Dr. Victor Fuhrman.

Victor entered my life during a deeply significant chapter of my grief and helped me understand that death does not have to mean the end of relationship. He helped me make room for the mysterious, spiritual dimensions of loss…the places where psychology, intuition, energy, love and the unseen can meet.

Sometimes another person arrives in our lives and quietly gives us permission to explore something our soul already knows.

Victor did that for me.

His presence and encouragement became part of my journey toward understanding grief not simply as something we “get over,” but as something that can deepen us, awaken us and invite us into an entirely different relationship with life.

Perhaps it is no coincidence that, seventeen years later, I am preparing to present The Healing Wisdom of Edgar Cayce: A Psychotherapist’s Journey Toward Holistic Living …a conversation about the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit and the possibility that healing can become a sacred way of living. It is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026, 3:30 pm – 5 pm, EDT

Tickets: $40

On Zoom

And today, here at The Pink Light Sanctuary®, this magnificent pink Rose of Sharon opened her petals.

I noticed her.

I stopped.

And I thought of my mother and my childhood best friend who was named after this flower, Sharon.

Maybe that is one of grief’s greatest teachings:

Love does not disappear.
It asks us to learn how to recognize it differently.

Mom, seventeen years later, I still recognize you. 🌸

And Victor, thank you for helping me learn how to listen for what cannot always be seen.

God Bless You, Victor. I adore you. You are such an exceptional person.

With love and gratitude,

The Blessing of Rain

This morning, the rain arrived like a quiet blessing at The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

Every drop seemed to carry a sacred invitation.

To pause.

To breathe.

To simply notice.

The rose welcomed the rain without resistance.

After days of summer heat, she stood quietly as heaven nourished every petal, refreshed every leaf and restored what the sun had gently asked of her.

Perhaps we are meant to receive life the same way.

Not every season asks us to strive.

Some seasons invite us to be still enough to receive.

To allow ourselves to be nourished by kindness.

Restored by silence.

Renewed by grace.

As I leaned in, the delicate fragrance of the rose became even more exquisite after the rain.

It reminded me that beauty often reveals itself most fully when we stop rushing long enough to experience it.

The sacred has always been here.

Patiently waiting for us to slow down enough to notice.

🌹 A Sacred Invitation

Today, pause for just a few moments.

Find something beautiful that has been quietly waiting to delight you.

Lean in.

Notice its fragrance…

its colors…

its texture…

the way it receives the light.

Allow yourself to become fully present.

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations are not spoken.

Sometimes they are experienced.

🌸 August at The Pink Light Sanctuary® 🌸

Every August holds a sacred place in my heart.

It is a month that gently reminds me of two extraordinary women whose love continues to shape my life.

This month, I honor the memory of my beloved mother on the anniversary of her passing and celebrate the birthday of my cherished godmother, Nancy Carlson Wolcott.

They were very different women, yet they shared something beautiful in common.

They taught me the power of kindness.

The gift of simply showing up.

The strength of listening without judgment.

And the healing that can emerge from one meaningful conversation.

As I reflected on their lives, I realized that everything I have created at The Pink Light Sanctuary® has been influenced by the love they so freely gave me.

So, throughout the month of August, I am offering special pricing on my signature sanctuary experiences in their honor.

My hope is that these offerings provide others with the same sense of peace, hope and connection that my mother and Nancy gave to me.

August Arrived Like a Blessing. 💗🌿

Today was a beautiful first day of August at The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

This morning, I officially launched my annual August offering…

The Pink Light Sanctuary® Conversation™

A private 90-minute experience created for those longing to slow down, reconnect with themselves and experience the healing power of one meaningful conversation.

Later in the afternoon, I found myself exactly where I needed to be…

Sitting quietly in the cool, crystal-clear waters of the Peckman River.

After the recent rains, the river was sparkling.

The water was refreshing.

The gentle current invited me to simply be present as I searched for river rocks, listened to the flowing water and allowed nature to quiet my mind.

As I sat there, I felt my mother’s spirit close by.

Then something unexpected happened.

One of my most treasured friends sent me a photograph of himself with his beautiful wife and son as they celebrated his 52nd birthday.

My heart smiled.

I am incredibly proud of the man he has become.

His professional success is impressive, but what moves me even more is the life he has built… a loving family, a generous heart and a career devoted to helping people every single day.

Success isn’t measured only by accomplishments.

Sometimes it’s measured by the love we give, the lives we touch and the family we nurture.

Today reminded me that life is constantly flowing, just like the river.

Some seasons invite us to hold on.

Others invite us to let go.

And every now and then, we’re given a quiet afternoon that reminds us to simply be grateful.

As August begins, my prayer is that each of us finds a place where we can slow down long enough to hear our own hearts…

to breathe more deeply…

to love more fully…

and to trust that even after life’s greatest storms, the river continues to flow.

Nature becomes the invitation.

Conversation becomes the bridge.

Connection becomes the transformation.

Like the river, may we all find the courage to keep flowing toward the life that is still waiting for us.

Love and Mastery,

Sue Waldman

🌿 Sanctuary Sunday

A weekly glimpse into the wildlife, wonder and meaningful reflections that emerge from The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

Yesterday, one of my beloved visitors stepped quietly out of the woods at The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

He didn’t hurry.

He didn’t seem afraid.

For several precious moments, we simply observed one another.

His velvet antlers reminded me that some of life’s greatest growth happens while we are still becoming. Before strength hardens, it is surprisingly tender.

As I stood there, I couldn’t help but think about trust.

Trust cannot be demanded.

Trust cannot be hurried.

It can only be earned through consistency.

Perhaps that is true not only of wildlife, but of people.

More than a decade ago, I purchased this property with the dream of creating a wildlife preserve. I had no idea it would one day become The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

Watching this magnificent buck reminded me that perhaps our greatest accomplishment isn’t something we build.

Perhaps it is becoming the kind of presence that allows life to draw near on its own.

The deer don’t come because they’re invited.

They return because, over time, this place has become a refuge where they seem to feel safe.

In a world that often feels hurried, suspicious and divided, I can’t imagine a greater compliment than being trusted by something wild.

As I continue writing The BabyDoll Chronicles, moments like these remind me why I believe so deeply in this simple truth:

Nature becomes the invitation.
Conversation becomes the bridge.
Connection becomes the transformation.

To all the loving people in my life…

The past two days have reminded me that life’s greatest treasures are not found in things.

They are found in people.

Yesterday, I had three lengthy conversations that each taught me something about myself. Every one of them invited me to look inward, grow a little more and continue becoming a better version of myself.

What a gift.

Today brought another series of meaningful conversations.

This morning, my dear friend Gil and I shared one of those conversations that always draws my heart closer to Christ. Some people have a way of reminding us that faith is not only experienced in church. Sometimes it is revealed through compassion, presence and genuine friendship.

Later, my new friend Ian noticed my fascination with plants and introduced me to purslane, teaching me about one of nature’s remarkable herbs. We stood together talking about plants, nature and the wisdom growing all around us.

Another new friend, Israel, spent time admiring The Pink Light Sanctuary®. Before long, we discovered our shared love of animals. What began as a simple conversation ended with a heartfelt hug…a beautiful reminder that meaningful connections can begin in the most unexpected moments.

In the late afternoon, I had an extraordinary conversation with a gifted healer who taught me how I might help a part of my body that has been in pain for the past eight weeks. Rather than simply offering advice, she patiently educated me about ways I might help my body heal. Whether the discomfort resolves quickly or slowly, she gave me something I needed just as much as information…

Hope.

After a day filled with conversations that nourished my heart, I never imagined the evening would end with one more unexpected gift.

A local market owner surprised me with a bottle of Hampton Water, the French rosé inspired by Jon Bon Jovi and his son, Jesse Bongiovi, personally signed by Jon, along with pink sunglasses, coconut lip balm and a tote bag.

As we talked, she shared the story behind the wine. She told me that Jon and Jesse enjoyed sharing glasses of rosé together at their home in the Hamptons, and that those moments inspired them to create Hampton Water.

As I drove home, I found myself smiling.

Not because of the gifts.

But because I realized that every meaningful moment of these past two days had come through a conversation.

A conversation about becoming a better human being.

A conversation about Christ.

A conversation about herbs.

A conversation about animals.

A conversation about healing.

A conversation that blossomed into unexpected generosity.

Perhaps that’s why meaningful conversation has become the heartbeat of The BabyDoll Chronicles and The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

Over the years, I’ve come to believe that God often reveals Himself through extraordinary people whose kindness, wisdom and compassion become gifts in the lives of others.

To all the loving people in my life, thank you for being among those gifts. You have shaped my heart, strengthened my faith and reminded me, time and again, that one meaningful conversation truly has the power to change a life.

An excerpt from my forthcoming memoir, The BabyDoll Chronicles.

Where I Find God

Yesterday, a summer storm changed my plans.

After rescheduling a client, I walked down to the river at The Pink Light Sanctuary® and wrote The River Knows, reflecting on trust, faith and the quiet current that carries us through life’s uncertainties.

Later that evening, I walked to 7-Eleven for something to eat.

On my way home, I unexpectedly passed Bill, a local signmaker I had first met years ago.

Years ago, Bill and his business partner were going to create the sign for my psychotherapy and coaching practice.

Then life changed.

His partner passed away unexpectedly.

The sign was never made.

Last night, years later, we met again.

We stood outside talking for quite a while.

He read The River Knows and told me how much my relationship with Christ had touched him.

Then he smiled and said,

“You need to listen to this song.”

He introduced me to Larry Fleet’s “Where I Find God.”

As I listened, tears quietly filled my eyes.

The song didn’t teach me where to find God.

It reminded me where I had been finding Him all along.

Beside rivers after storms.

In wildlife that freely wanders through The Pink Light Sanctuary®.

In meaningful conversations.

In unexpected acts of kindness.

In people who arrive in our lives at just the right moment.

Before I left, Bill handed me a bottle of cherry vanilla seltzer.

To most people, it’s simply a bottle of seltzer.

To me, it became a reminder.

A reminder that kindness is rarely measured by its price.

A reminder that God often speaks through ordinary moments.

A reminder that hope sometimes arrives quietly, wrapped in a simple conversation and an unexpected gift.

As I walked home beneath the clearing sky, I realized something had shifted within me.

For several years, life has tested me in ways I never imagined.

There have been seasons of profound grief, betrayal and financial uncertainty.

But through it all, I have never wanted hardship to define me.

Nor have I wanted it to determine the kind of person I choose to be.

There is a profound difference between being financially poor for a season and becoming spiritually impoverished.

One is a circumstance.

The other is a choice.

No matter what life has taken from me, it has never taken the part of me that chooses love.

As I prepared for bed, I realized something I hadn’t noticed all evening.

It was July 21.

Seven years earlier, on that same date, my life changed in one of the most painful ways imaginable.

I never could have imagined that seven years later, on the very same day, I would find myself standing beside a river, writing about trust, meeting the signmaker from my past, discovering a song called Where I Find God and feeling, perhaps for the first time in a very long time, that hope was beginning to speak louder than fear.

The past has not disappeared.

But neither has grace.

Sometimes the river carries more than rain.

Sometimes…

it carries us home.
