Today, we said goodbye to someone who has truly helped shape Good Shepherd Care Center.

After an incredible 28½ years of dedicated service, Galena Deister, our Admissions & Social Services Director, is beginning a well-earned retirement.

For nearly three decades, Galena has been the person everyone could count on. She was our encyclopedia of room numbers, resident histories, facility knowledge, and community connections. More importantly, she was someone who always had time to help, listen, and care.

Throughout her career, Galena has touched thousands of lives—residents, families, coworkers, and community members alike. Her compassion, knowledge, and unwavering dedication have left a lasting mark on Good Shepherd that will never be forgotten.

While it is difficult to imagine Good Shepherd without her, we are so excited for this next chapter in her life. She has more than earned the opportunity to relax, enjoy time with family and friends, and make wonderful new memories.

Thank you, Galena, for 28½ years of faithful service, kindness, and countless lives changed. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who has had the privilege of knowing you.

Congratulations on your retirement—you deserve every moment of it! ❤️
