Language Tip of the Week: Pause + Wait ⏳

When we pause and wait after asking a question, modeling a word, or creating a communication opportunity, we give children the time they need to process, think, and respond. Those few extra seconds can make all the difference!

Every small pause is another opportunity for big communication. 💙

One of our favorite ways to support communication growth is through modeling! Modeling allows children to hear language used naturally during play, routines, and conversation without pressure to immediately repeat.

By hearing words, phrases, and sounds over and over in meaningful moments, children begin to build understanding, confidence, and communication skills in a fun and engaging way. 💙
