Today, we had the privilege of celebrating some of the incredible people who bring our mission and values to life every day at Merit Health River Region. 💚

During today’s Values in Action presentation, we recognized employees who were nominated by their colleagues for demonstrating what it truly means to live our values and make a difference for our patients, our community and each other.

🏆 We Put Patients First Award: Becky Jo Holt
🏆 We Work as a Team Award: Tracey Lagrone

Congratulations to Becky Jo, Tracey Lagrone, and all of the employees who were nominated! Your dedication, compassion and commitment are what make our organization stronger every day.

Our values aren’t just words, they’re reflected in the way our team shows up, supports one another and cares for those we serve. Thank you for putting our values into action! 👏💚

The most productive thing you can do today? Nothing at all 🧘

Slowing down isn't slacking. Blood pressure, sleep and mood all run better when you take time to unplug.

Step outside, stretch it out and log off, guilt-free.

Welcome back to school…where germs travel fast 👋

Locker rooms. Cafeterias. Door handles.

The stomach bug (norovirus) is highly contagious and spreads quickly in shared spaces.

The best prevention is washing your hands with soap and warm water.

Remind your kids now. Their teachers (and everyone else's parents) will thank you.

🍋☀️ We had a great time at our Squeeze the Day Lemonade Social!

Our team enjoyed taking a break with refreshing lemonade, popcorn, and fun mix-ins like flavored syrups and frozen fruit to create their perfect lemonade.

Employee engagement is about more than just events—it’s about creating opportunities to connect, recharge, and show appreciation for the incredible people who make Merit Health River Region such a special place to work.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this month’s social a success! 💚

Your bones are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Return the favor.

1️⃣ Vitamin D & Calcium: Your bones need both. Dairy, leafy greens, fortified foods and a little sunshine go a long way. Talk to your doctor about whether a supplement is right for you.

2️⃣ Weight-Bearing Exercise: Walking, hiking, dancing, strength training. These put good stress on your bones and help maintain density over time.

3️⃣ Maintain a Healthy Weight: Both underweight and obesity can impact bone health. Your ideal weight isn't just about the scale — it's about what supports your frame long-term.

Strong bones aren't built overnight. Start stacking the habits now. https://shorturl.at/bapRA

Heat exhaustion you can treat. Heat stroke is a 911 situation.

Call 911 immediately if you see:

• Body temp above 103°F
• Hot, red skin with NO sweating
• Rapid, strong pulse
• Confusion, slurred speech or loss of consciousness

Don't wait it out. Don't drive to the ER. Call 911—EMS can begin cooling immediately.

It’s International Self-Care Day so don’t be selfish and show yourself some love. It's preventive medicine.

Sleep. Hydration. Movement. Time outside. Knowing your numbers.

The little things add up—in both directions. If you've been running on fumes, consider this your permission slip to slow down.

And if slowing down doesn't help, it might be time to loop in your doctor.
