I am probably going to hurt some feelings today.
Some people may be offended, while others can sit with what I say. Maybe it'll change your perspective.
I believe people should own their power — their true power. Not power they borrow from someone else, not power another person tells them they have, but their own genuine soul power.
You are powerful in your own right.
You do not need another medium, practitioner, psychic, teacher, religious figure, deity, entity, or anyone else telling you what you are capable of spiritually.
There is a difference between learning from someone and handing your power over to them.
And I think when we start believing that someone else knows our gifts better than we do, or that someone else gets to decide what is and isn't possible for us, we make ourselves susceptible to fear, doubt, and negative influence.
There is no one correct way to be spiritual.
There is no one correct way to be a medium.
There is no one correct way to develop your gifts.
Just because somebody was taught differently than you does not automatically make you wrong.
Some of the most powerful things I have learned spiritually came from throwing out the rules other people tried to place on me and figuring it out for myself.
I was self taught. I learned through experience. I learned by trusting myself, testing what worked, making mistakes, and continuing to develop my own abilities.
That does not make my experience less valid than somebody who was professionally taught.
And quite frankly, I think we have a serious problem with gatekeeping in the spiritual community.
Especially among women.
We can be absolutely horrible to one another. We criticize things we don't understand. We become threatened by people who do things differently. We are quick to say something is impossible simply because WE have never experienced it.
Different does not mean wrong.
Unfamiliar does not mean dangerous.
And somebody else's limitations do not have to become yours.
You should question things. You should use discernment. You should learn. You should grow.
But you should never allow another practitioner to convince you that you are incapable, illegitimate, or doing everything wrong simply because you don't practice the way they do.
Stop second guessing yourself because somebody else thinks they know better.
Explore beyond the boundaries other people have created.
Trust your own experiences.
Own your power.
Because once you stop asking other people for permission to believe in yourself, you might be surprised by what you're actually capable of.
