A little honesty from a small business owner today. Today has been rough.

I had plans to film my Solar Plexus Chakra video today. Instead, I spent most of the day feeling unwell and trying to listen to what my body needed. That’s been one of the hardest lessons chronic illness has taught me. Sometimes the vision is there, the passion is there, the to-do list is there, but the body has other plans.

To add to it, a recent post found its way onto the wrong side of Facebook. Nothing new. Comments about spirituality and yoga being “demonic,” comments about not trusting anyone who charges for spiritual services, comments rooted in fear, misunderstanding, and often a lack of knowledge about the traditions they’re criticizing.

The truth is that healing traditions have existed in every culture across the world. The practices I study and share are deeply rooted in mindfulness, prayer, ritual, connection, and community care.

As for the idea that healers should never charge, history tells a different story. Traditional curanderos and healers were often supported by their communities through food, labor, housing, gifts, and mutual care. Their needs were met so they could continue serving others. Healing work has always required resources, time, energy, training, and sacrifice.

I don’t share this because I’m looking for sympathy or because a few Facebook comments changed my beliefs. They didn’t.

I share it because this is the reality of being a small business owner. Some days you create. Some days you heal. Some days you pour into others. Some days you need to pour back into yourself.

For now, I’m choosing to rest, regroup, and remember why I started this work in the first place.

Not to convince everyone. Definitely not to argue with strangers on the internet.

Simply to offer tools, education, and support to the people who find value in them. I know the people who are meant to find me, will.

I also received a beautiful voice message from someone who received their package today sharing about the energy and comfort they felt from just one item. They were tearful and even said “idk why I’m even crying” and that was a reminder of why I do this work. I know it’s what I’m meant to do and called to do and some random strangers expressing their ignorance won’t change that. I’m just in my feels today and wanted to share because so many have expressed appreciation for my transparency.

And for those of you who continue to support The Embodied Mariposa, thank you. More than you know. 🦋

🧡 Here’s a little mindfulness checkpoint.

An invitation to pause, take a breath, and check in with yourself.

Today’s check-in is for the Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana). I’ll be using sound healing and gentle Reiki-inspired movements to help clear and create space for creativity, emotion, pleasure, and flow.

As I continue creating the Sacral Chakra oil for the upcoming Chakra Journey, I wanted to share a little about it here.

Let me know what you experience during this practice. 🧡

Hi, angels! I’m showing you here how to use a limpia spray to do a daily cleanse. Why a daily cleanse? Spiritual hygiene is soooo important. It helps our physical energy, mental health, and soul energy. I am using my St. Michael Limpia Spray. I hit the chakra energy centers as well as knees and feet which is something done in curanderismo tradition because of the foundation they provide and the way they carry us through everything. And that’s it! You’ve cleansed. Of course, intention is everything. I also chose to use sound after spraying. You can do this with bells, drums, or even a sound bowl. It isn’t necessary, but just something I wanted to do for myself today. This took all of 1 minute!

Yall know I’m an oil girlie, so of course I’m following up with protection oils and other oils for the day.

I have some videos on deeper cleanses such as a white fire limpia, limpia de huevo, baños, and series cleanses.

If you’re interested in learning more about the chakras and ways to tend to these energy centers and how they affect our physical health, mental health and nervous system check out the upcoming virtual Chakra Series I have beginning 7/1!

I was going to add music and do a voice over, but Mr. Embodied Mariposa wanted to say hi.

Here’s a little mindfulness checkpoint.

An invitation to take a break from scrolling and check in with yourself. This check in is for the Root Chakra. I’ll be working on creating the Root Chakra oil that can accompany the yoga series. I’ll share a bit more about the oil below. If you’re interested in joining the series, it’s 🔗 here! I definitely thought about redoing this video, but thought the pug snorts may add to the grounding 🤣

Let me know what you experience with this short check in! ❤️
