Congratulations to the newest class of doulas from Victor Valley College in collaboration with Love Your Best Life LLC!
This cohort brought together students from across California — including participants traveling from as far as Sacramento — and we were especially excited to welcome our very first high school student into the training program!

These newly trained doulas are leaving equipped with the knowledge, compassion, and skills to serve families in their communities and help improve maternal and infant health outcomes throughout the region and beyond.
A special thank you to District Representative Alfredo Miranda for presenting certificates on behalf of Suzette Martinez Valladares, and to our local field representatives for also providing certificates from the offices of Assemblyman Juan Carrillo and Congressman Jay Obernolte.

Doula work is heart work.
Owning a business is hard work.
Teaching and mentoring current and future doulas?A blessing—and a deep investment of energy.
Showing up for my community? Also takes everything I’ve got.
But would I trade it for anything in the world?Absolutely not.
I’m grateful for the autonomy to build my own schedule,for the families who trust me,and for the opportunity to serve this beautiful High Desert community.
So when I feel tired, I lean into gratitude.Like Angel Reese shared so beautifully in the recent IMO podcast—gratitude grounds you.
Thankful. Humbled. Blessed.

And learning to pour back into myself—through rest, self-care, and moments of grounding to recharge. ✨ ||

💝My cup continues to overflow from last month’s Stronger Together: High Desert Family and Birthworker Expo.
It was a beautiful day filled with over 200 community members, 60 resource tables, fabulous vendors, delicious food, speakers and workshops.
Thank you to all the sponsors, community members, vendors, volunteers, and family members who supported the event.
The High Desert is full of love, light and resources and March 28th, 2026 proved just that.
We are Stronger Together!
