A DUI crash on Highway 18 in Apple Valley injured a San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy earlier today, with the driver booked at the High Desert Detention Center on $250,000 bail.

This follows a month of active enforcement across the Victor Valley — Victorville Police completed a DUI saturation operation in August, Hesperia PD ran a checkpoint on August 28 with 700 vehicles passing through, and Apple Valley has had targeted impaired driving patrols ongoing throughout the summer.
