💜 The Heart Behind Hospice 💜

We asked Kim Williamson, CNA, to reflect on what she hopes stays with the families she has cared for. Her response is a beautiful reminder that hospice care is about more than what we do, it’s about how we make people feel.

“What do you hope families remember about the care you provided?”

“It’s not so much about what I’ve done. I pray they saw that I treated them not just as a patient and a patient’s family, but as my own family. I hope they remember the heart behind hospice.” 💜

Thank you, Kim, for showing our patients and families the heart behind hospice.

💜 The Heart Behind Hospice 💜

We asked Nerissa Aldridge, RN, what she hopes families remember about the care she provided. Her answer reflects something at the very heart of hospice—caring for the patient means caring for the family, too.

“What do you hope families remember about the care you provided?”

“I hope they remember the loving, compassionate care that was provided. That I truly cared not just about the patient, but the family as well.” 💜

Hospice care reaches beyond the bedside. It’s supporting families, listening, comforting, and walking alongside them through one of life’s most difficult seasons.

Thank you, Nerissa, for showing our patients and their families what it means to be cared for with compassion, kindness, and heart. 💜

⚾️ Customer Appreciation Week Kickoff ⚾️

“We Are With You Through Every Inning” — because just like a great team, we know the importance of showing up, working together, and being there when it matters most. ❤️

We kicked off the week with a delicious breakfast hosted by our very own Patty Breedlove, RN, at her new restaurant, A Taste of Home, in Hazlehurst! Patty not only serves our patients and families as one of our wonderful hospice nurses, but she’s now serving up some pretty amazing food, too! 🍳🥞

A huge thank you to Patty for helping us start Customer Appreciation Week with full hearts (and full stomachs)!

Thank you to our incredible healthcare partners and referral sources who trust us to care for their patients and families.

⚾️ From the first inning to the last, we are with you every step of the way. ❤️

What Has Working in Hospice Taught You About Life?

Stacy Thayer, MSW, shares a powerful perspective on what working in hospice has taught her:

“Working in hospice, I’ve learned about the fragility of life and how everything can change in an instant. We should treasure our moments with loved ones and be there for them during their hardest times. Don’t be too selfish to help people in their most vulnerable state, because one day you may be the vulnerable one.

Also, let things go. Holding on to grudges and wrongs fosters bitterness, and there is freedom in letting it all go. Most importantly, faith in God and loving each other helps us through it all.” ❤️

Thank you, Stacy, for sharing these meaningful words and for the compassion you bring to patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

What Has Working in Hospice Taught You About Life?

Jennifer Griffin, RN, shares what hospice has taught her:

“Hospice has taught me that life is precious and time is more valuable than gold. It’s taught me that love, kindness, and compassion are not just words, but actions. It’s taught me to appreciate the gifts God has given us. I am thankful I have the opportunity to serve my patients during the most difficult season of their life.”

What a beautiful reminder that some of the most valuable things in life can’t be measured.

Thank you, Jennifer, for the heart you bring to hospice care and for being there for patients and families when they need compassion most.
