Have you been wondering if medication is the right next step for your child? Maybe you've tried it and something feels off. Maybe you're not sure it's even helping. Maybe you just want someone to actually listen before making any decisions.

Those feelings are so valid, and you deserve support from someone who starts there.

We recently had the opportunity to meet with Janine Michaelson, PMHNP-BC of on neurodiversity-affirming approaches to medication management for autistic youth, and her philosophy is worthy of sharing.

Janine believes medication is an option, not the only option. That your child is the expert on their own experience. And that ""treatment resistant"" doesn't mean your child is the problem. It just means the right approach hasn't been found yet. She also believes that working closely with their therapist is important, because therapists understand their needs on a deeper level.

That's the kind of thinking we want surrounding the families we work with.

If you're navigating medication questions for your autistic child, know that you don't have to figure it out alone, and you don't have to settle for care that doesn't truly see your child.

If there's one thing we've learned about advocating for your child in an early childcare setting, it's this:

there isn't one tool that's going to magically make everything easier.

Instead, it's about building your own toolbox of strategies that support your child where they find things more challenging.

🀍 Swipe through to see what's currently in our toolbox, and we'd love to hear from you: what's in yours?

After 15+ years doing evaluations, we've perfected our feedback sessions. And each one is different.

Our feedback session isn't just about sharing results. It's about making sure you truly understand what they mean, what comes next, and how to support your child at home, at school, and in everyday life.

We shared our whole evaluation process this week. If you're starting here, welcome! We recommend watching our last two videos: intake and testing.

We hope you learned more about our process, and if you feel it may be time to get your child evaluated, reach out via the link in our bio. We are here to support you. πŸ’™

Not sure what a psychological evaluation actually looks like? With the new school year around the corner, we're breaking it all down.

Evaluations happen in three parts: intake, testing, and feedback. This week, we're walking you through each one.

Our goal isn't just to find a diagnosis. It's to understand how your child's brain works so we can provide recommendations that truly fit their unique strengths and needs.

Follow along this week as we walk you through the full process.

After an ADHD diagnosis, you may start realizing so many things.

Things you've experienced for years suddenly make sense, not as personal flaws, but as patterns connected to how your brain works.

That doesn't mean these experiences only happen if you have ADHD. But for many adults diagnosed later in life, they show up more often, more intensely, and in ways that can impact daily life.

Understanding these patterns can be really helpful. Not to label yourself, but to support yourself differently and without shame.

After your virtual assessment, we can talk more about the symptoms of ADHD that are often overlooked or misunderstood.

See the link in our bio to learn more about these assessments.

Understanding what's actually happening changes everything about how you can help.

Save this if sensory differences are making daily life challenging for your child. And if you're ready for support, we're here. 🀍

Some children experience the world more intensely than others. Sounds feel louder, textures feel sharper, or they need more input just to feel settled. It's not a behavior problem. It's how their nervous system works.

If this resonates, we hope this carousel brings a little clarity and a lot of reassurance. πŸ’™
