Ultherapy, Sofwave, HIFU, RF — real technologies that modestly tighten skin by triggering collagen. For early, mild laxity in your 40s, they can buy you a few years.

But "non-surgical facelift" is false advertising. None of these reposition deep tissue or remove skin — which is what a facelift does. Sell that label to a 60-year-old with real jowling and they spend $5–8K to see almost nothing.

Energy devices are skin-quality tools. Don't buy them as a substitute for surgery you actually need.

Thread lifts are marketed as a "lunchtime facelift." For the right patient — late 30s to early 40s, mild laxity, good skin — they're a reasonable subtle tweak.

For everyone with real jowling or neck laxity, they pull on tissue too heavy to hold. Result lasts about 6 months, and the barbs can leave dimpling I have to work around later.

If you've been offered threads for significant sagging, get a second opinion before you spend.

Three things to do BEFORE you book a facelift: 1️⃣ Three months of medical skin care pre-op. Retinoid, vitamin C, sunscreen. Better healing, less scarring, brighter result. The cheapest amplifier of your surgical investment. 2️⃣ Get blood pressure and sleep dialed in. Surgical bleeding tracks blood pressure. Bruising and swelling resolve faster in well-rested patients. Two months of attention here visibly changes your recovery. 3️⃣ Get a SECOND opinion from another surgeon. Not for price-shopping — for plan verification. If two experienced surgeons give you the same answer, you're on the right path. If they disagree, ask why. The surgeon who can defend their plan is the one you want. Save this. Send to anyone who's even thinking about it. DM "consult" when you're ready for yours.

"Liquid facelift" is one of the most misleading terms in aesthetic medicine. What it actually means: 8–15 syringes of filler placed across the face. That's it. What it cannot do: lift sagging skin. Filler is a volume tool. It pushes tissue forward. It does not lift it. The damage: patients spend $5,000–$10,000 over 2–3 years chasing a lift that never comes. The face slowly migrates, looks overfilled, and by the time they come to me for a real facelift we have to dissolve everything and wait for the tissue to settle before operating on what's left. If you've been considering a "liquid facelift" — ask the provider exactly what they're doing and exactly what you'll see at the 12-month mark. The honest answer is usually different from the marketing. DM "liquid" if you want a real second opinion before you spend more on filler.

Every morning before I operate on a single face:

🏋️ Weight training, 45 min, 5 days/week (Beachbody Dig Deeper) 🏃 30 min incline treadmill (weighted vest 2 days/week) 🧖 20 min sauna at 190°F

Why am I posting this on a facial plastic surgery account?

Because the same physiology that makes a 60-year-old heal beautifully from a deep plane facelift is the physiology I'm protecting in myself so I'm still operating well at 70. Healing isn't separate from outcomes. Healing IS the outcome.

Muscle mass past 50 is the single biggest predictor of longevity. Sauna 4–7x/week reduces cardiovascular mortality ~50% per Finnish data. Zone 2 cardio is the cheapest medicine in existence.

If your surgeon doesn't take their own physiology seriously, why would you trust them with yours?

Pick one. Start tomorrow. Then come talk to me about your face.

🧬 Your face isn’t aging uniformly.

There are 4 distinct layers — skin, fat, muscle, and bone — and each ages differently.

Creams can only reach one of them.

That’s why a $400 jar of retinol won’t fix what a $4,000 fat transfer can. And why even the best surgery looks unnatural if it only addresses one layer.

✅ Comprehensive facial rejuvenation = the right tool for the right layer.

Save and share with someone who thinks “more skincare” will solve everything.

Fractional CO2 laser is the most powerful skin resurfacing tool we have — and the most often used on the wrong patient. ✅ Right candidates: skin types I–III, sun damage, fine lines, surface texture, mild laxity, age 45–65. ❌ Wrong candidates: active acne, melasma, darker skin types (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk), or anyone expecting it to LIFT sagging skin (it resurfaces — it doesn't lift). Recovery: 7–10 days of redness, peeling, and strict sun avoidance. Real downtime. Done well, results last 5–10 years. If you've been told you're a candidate — ask your provider WHY, and what realistic results look like for your specific skin. The answer should be specific, not "you'll love it." DM "CO2" for a candid assessment.

My exact protocol for patients coming in after major GLP-1 weight loss: 🔵 Step 1 — Weight stable for 3+ months. Otherwise we're chasing a moving target. 🔵 Step 2 — Photographic assessment, compared to pre-weight-loss photos when available. Volume loss is almost never uniform; we map exactly which compartments are hit hardest. 🔵 Step 3 — Honest read on whether you need fat transfer alone or fat transfer + deep plane facelift. Skin tone determines the answer. 🔵 Step 4 — One outpatient session, same recovery timeline as a standard facelift. Final result around month 6. 🔵 Step 5 — You maintain the result. Fat that takes is yours forever; skin still ages on its own schedule. If your weight has been stable for 3 months and you're ready for the conversation — DM "protocol."
