After we tasted our pickled beets we grew and made, we celebrated the cucumbers we grew by making pickles! We will taste those in a week. The herb of the month is lemongrass so we learned about lemongrass: its uses, benefits, textures, scent, etc. We created a marinade with lemongrass to marinate the beef we will turn into jerky.

Happy Sea turtle day at Salterra at Ashbrook ! We made sea turtles for our undersea project. 🐢 We learned facts about sea turtles we didn’t know! And residents told stories about snorkeling and riding sea turtles! As a snack, we finally tasted the pickled beets we made in cooking club with the beets we grew!!!

We will watch under ocean movies in our underwater space. Bubbles and water and seaweed and creatures! Residents painted the sea creatures with fluorescent paint to glow in black light.
