📚 Mom’s Book Club

A free monthly book club just for moms.

We’ll meet on the first Monday of each month to talk about a book, life, motherhood, and the things we’re all navigating along the way.

Our first book is “Capable” by Sissy Goff and David Thomas—a book that encourages moms to recognize the ways fear, worry, and self-doubt can impact our children and equips us to help them grow in confidence, courage, and resilience.

But this book club is about more than just finishing a book. Come enjoy time and conversation with moms to be encouraged, connect with other moms, and have honest conversations.

đź“– First Book: Capable by Sissy Goff and David Thomas
đź“… When: First Monday of every month at 7PM
đź’° Cost: FREE
📧 Registration: Email [email protected] to reserve your spot.

Come as you are. Bring your book, your coffee, and whatever season of motherhood you’re currently in. ❤️

SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH.

We need to talk about hope.

Not the shallow kind that says, “Just stay positive.” Not the kind that minimizes suffering or tells someone to simply pray harder.

Real hope.

Pain is real. Grief is real. Trauma is real. And sometimes suffering can become so overwhelming that we struggle to see beyond the pain in front of us.

But… the gospel changes everything.

Your pain does not make you worthless.
Your past does not have the final word.
Your darkest season does not get to write the end of your story.

Jesus does.

We have a Savior who entered into our broken world, who knows suffering, who came near to the hurting, who died for sinners, and who rose again.

And because Jesus lives, there is hope.

The gospel doesn’t promise that life will never be painful. It promises that Christ is with us in our suffering, Christ is redeeming what sin has broken, and Christ is making all things new.

Sometimes hope looks like praying.
Sometimes it looks like calling a friend.
Sometimes it looks like sitting with a pastor.
Sometimes it looks like making a counseling appointment.
Sometimes it looks like simply taking the next faithful step.

Seeking help is not a failure of faith.

So this month, let’s be people who move toward the hurting. Let’s listen. Let’s stay. Let’s remind one another that our lives have God-given dignity and purpose.

And above all, let’s point people to Jesus.

Because the gospel is not merely good advice for getting through a difficult life.

It is the good news that Jesus Christ came to rescue, redeem, restore, and make all things new.

There is hope.
There is help.
There is Jesus.

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Your story is not over.

🍎 Teacher Appreciation Giveaway! 🍎

As a counselor, I have the privilege of hearing stories every day about the incredible impact teachers have on the lives of children and families. I see the confidence they build, the safe spaces they create, the encouragement they give, and the countless ways they invest in students—often without recognition.

Teaching is so much more than academics. It’s noticing when a child is struggling, celebrating every small victory, and showing up day after day with patience, compassion, and hope.

At West Georgia Christian Counseling, we want to say THANK YOU to the teachers who faithfully pour into our community.

❤️ Nominate an amazing Georgia teacher to receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card!

To nominate a teacher:
✨ Tag a Georgia teacher in the comments.
✨ Include the name of their school.
✨ Share how they’ve made a difference in your child’s life or impacted our community.

We’ll randomly select one nominated teacher to receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card!

đź“… Nominations close: August 4th

Let’s fill the comments with encouragement and celebrate the educators who make such a lasting difference. Thank you, teachers, for all you do—you are seen, appreciated, and making an impact far beyond the classroom. 💙

“Search me, O God, and know my heart.” (Psalm 139:23)

As the year comes to a close, reflection helps us notice where God has been at work—not just in our circumstances, but in our hearts, bodies, relationships, and resources.

There’s no pressure to have it all figured out. Simply pause, notice, and invite God into every area of your life.

This brand new book came in the mail this week. I am so glad to have this children’s resource for little ones that may deal with negative thinking patterns and anxiety. At the end of the book, there are several pages of scripture to ground the reader in truth.
