Martha's Vineyard Medical

Martha's Vineyard Medical Serving Martha’s Vineyard with patient-centered primary care since 1985. With a new name and renewed commitment, we are taking new patients and hiring.

Call 508-693-4400 Vineyard Medical Care serves island residents and welcomes vacationing visitors who require medical attention. Since the island does not have any urgent care facilities other than the ER, Vineyard Medical Care offers medical attention to those in sudden need of care for minor illnesses. Patients may avoid unnecessary and costly hospital emergency room visits and help prevent the

ER from becoming overwhelmed with less severe instances. We are a small practice and ask for your understanding that we are not an urgent care or walk-in clinic*. We do offer same-day or next-day appointments as much as we can safely manage within the scope of our licensing.

*Walk-ins are welcome, but we do have limited availability.

*There is no on-site imaging (x-rays, ultrasounds, CT, MRI, etc.)

*Our clinicians are not pediatricians and have varying age limits based on the severity of the problem. Please check with our front office on the availability of an appointment for your child. We also offer appointments for the following services:

Exams/Tests requested by employers (e.g., physicals, TB tests, drug screenings)
Sports physicals for students
DOT exams
Police exams
Chain-of-Custody Drug Testing
Coast Guard exams

🍰 It’s International Cake Day , and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with Claudia Roden’s Orange & Almond Cake, which is our favorite New York Times recipe of all time. It’s that good! It’s gluten-free and dairy-free, so it’s in our rotaton of alpha-gal friendly desserts. You simmer two whole oranges on the stove for two hours and then blend them — peels and all —into the batter. Your kitchen will smell amazing!

And the best part? It’s delicious!

One of the many reasons we love The Sweet Life? They make everyone feel welcome at the table.

This beloved Island eatery is the definition of a true mom-and-pop. Erin Ryerson greets every guest with a smile, while Chef Hal Ryerson transforms the freshest local, seasonal ingredients into inspired dishes. Together, they’ve created a year-round gathering place that’s perfect for celebrations, dinners with friends or craft cocktails and apps at the bar.

They’re also committed to accommodating food allergies, especially for those living with alpha-gal syndrome.

Pictured here is their Local Fluke with Chinese broccoli, green romesco, trumpet mushrooms, and almonds. It’s just one of the delicious dishes from The Sweet Life’s dedicated alpha-gal-friendly menu.

Meet Yogi Jay, one of our integrative health partners at The Tick Center. Jason is a yoga teacher, mindfulness coach, and educator who supports our patients through yoga, restorative assisted movement, breathwork, and meditation to help address the physical, mental, and emotional challenges of tick-borne illness. Research shows these practices help reduce pain and stiffness, improve mental clarity and cognitive function, regulate the nervous system, and ease fatigue, anxiety, depression, sleep disruption, and chronic stress, making yoga an important part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
