Accountability isn’t about beating yourself up. It’s about being honest enough with yourself to grow.

Sometimes the hardest person to face is the one staring back at you in the mirror.

The excuses.
The patterns.
The choices.
The things you know you need to change.

Looking within can be uncomfortable, but avoiding yourself will keep you stuck.

Ask yourself:

Am I settling?
Am I showing up fully?
Am I taking responsibility for my part?
Am I capable of more?

You don’t have to be ashamed of what you see. You just have to be willing to own it.

Because accountability isn’t punishment.

It’s power.

Look in. Own it. Grow from it. 🤍

Mental Health Moment 🧠✨

Have you heard of EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional and physical impact they can have.

But here’s something many people don’t realize: EMDR doesn’t begin with processing trauma.

For this client, we were in Stage 1, Phase 1 — Preparation. We introduced 3–5 breathing and began building safety, grounding, and awareness of what it feels like to be relaxed in the body.

This client has a history of PTSD and, throughout our sessions, I noticed that she rarely appeared physically relaxed. She would often clench something, hold tension in her body, or sit in a guarded position.

Then something happened.

As we began EMDR preparation, I watched her body begin to release.

For the first time, I saw her back actually rest against the chair.

She noticed the physical shift herself. Her body began to feel calmer, more relaxed, and at ease.

And we hadn’t even begun trauma processing yet.

This is why preparation matters.

Sometimes the first step in healing isn’t revisiting the trauma. Sometimes it’s teaching the body that it is safe enough to finally let go.

And for this client, this is just the beginning. 🤍

Healing doesn’t always start with words. 🎨✨

Building my therapy arts & crafts basket with simple tools that help clients slow down, regulate, and express themselves in a different way. Sometimes a paintbrush, coloring page, or handful of craft supplies can create the space where conversation begins.

Every item is chosen with intention to support grounding, creativity, and emotional wellness.

Client confidentiality is always protected. Any artwork shared is my own—not a client’s.
