The work is the same. The man in the mirror isn't.

You've done the same lifts you've done for twenty years. Five days a week. You had a system and it worked.

Your protein is dialed in.
Your sleep is pretty decent.

You are having less beers than you did in your 30s.
By the math, you're doing way more for your body than most men your age ..

You should be getting the same results as before.
But you're not.

Why has it gotten so hard? The workout hasn't changed.

The mechanism is straightforward: muscle doesn't get built by the workout. It gets built by the testosterone signal that tells your fibers to use the workout.

That signal peaks in your 20s, drifts through your 30s, and falls off the table somewhere in your 40s.
