Our grill specialists were fired up and ready to serve! 🔥🍔

The Clearfield team came together yesterday for our annual summer cookout, and the day served up plenty of great food and fun.

A big thank-you to Yvonne for bringing it all together and to our grill crew for keeping everyone happy and well fed!

We work hard together, and it’s always fun when we get the chance to kick back together, too. ☀️

Let’s hear it for our 2026 Coastal Virginia Top Docs! 👏

We are proud to congratulate ten Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists physicians who received the Top Doc recognition through peer nominations and voting. Our honorees represent three award categories: Orthopedic Surgery, Hand Surgery and Oncology Surgery.

Coastal Virginia Magazine selects its Top Docs through an annual peer to peer survey in which local healthcare professionals nominate and vote for the physicians they trust most. These doctors were recognized for their clinical excellence, bedside manner and the trust they have earned within the medical community.

Choosing a spine surgeon is an important decision, and trust matters throughout every stage of care.

A recent patient shared:
"He is the best surgeon I have ever met. Very concerned and caring demeanor and bedside manner. He takes great care of me and I value his professionalism and honesty with medical advice. In 2020 he did a minimally invasive L4 S1 lumbar spinal fusion on me and I still go to him when I need maintenance care of my spine. I am truly thankful to have met him and to have him on my care team."

Joint replacement is about more than restoring mobility. It is about helping patients live with less pain and return to the activities they enjoy with greater confidence.

A recent patient shared:
"I have had two total hip replacements from Doctor William Byrd. I am so pleased with each one and enjoying walking with no pain. I would highly recommend him and have already told others. Everybody have been so professional and very nice."

Dr. William A. Byrd is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total hip and knee replacement. He offers advanced muscle sparing joint replacement techniques designed to preserve the surrounding muscles and soft tissues. This approach may help reduce pain after surgery, support a faster recovery, improve mobility, and help patients return to their daily activities sooner.

Strong bones help you stay active, maintain your independence, and continue doing the things you enjoy throughout life.

Although osteoporosis is often associated with women, it can also affect men, and the risk increases with age. Because bone loss often occurs without noticeable symptoms, many people do not realize their bones have weakened until they experience a fracture.

At Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists, our Bone Health & Osteoporosis Clinic has a dedicated provider focused on personalized screening, prevention, and treatment strategies. Our goal is to help patients strengthen their bones, reduce their risk of future fractures, and stay active.
