Good Morning and Happy Monday! It is great starting off the week welcoming a new member to the Minot Caringedge family! Meet Molly Flagstad-our newest Occupational Therapist! Molly grew up in Minot and enjoys summer fun with her family. Prior to joining our team, she was a travelling OT helping patients live their best lives from California and Oregon to Virginia and Pennsylvania! Molly says she is looking forward to working with us and is excited to gain experience in Home Health! We are excited too! Welcome to the team, Molly!

At CaringEdge in Minot, we love adding to the team! Please help us welcome our newest Home Health and Hospice nurse Kacy Smith! Originally from the south eastern part of North Dakota, she brings six years of expertise an an ER nurse, and four years as a traveling nurse. When Kacy is not hard at work helping patients, she enjoys roping, and hiking with her dog Poppy! Kacy said she is very excited to be on our team and we are very glad she decided to join us in Minot!

One of our patients has been working hard to improve her balance using BlazePods, an interactive activity that challenges coordination, reaction time, and stability. Through dedication and a little fun competition with herself, she’s made incredible strides in her confidence and control.

Please join me in welcoming the newest member of our Physical Therapy Team - Shanon Lene! Originally from Walhalla, ND, Shanon graduated in 2020 from the University of Mary with her doctorate in PT. Prior to joining us here at CE in Bismarck, she was a traveling physical therapist. We are very glad to have her on our team! Welcome Shanon!

HOME HEALTH SUCCESS STORY!
Robert was a recent Home Health patient with us at CaringEdge in Bismarck. Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and a Home Health Aide were all involved in his care. The team worked closely with he and his wife with the goal of increasing strength and independence allowing him to stay safe at home and avoid hospitalization. In his wife's words:

Shoutout to our amazing CNAs! 💙
We truly have the best CNAs in the world. They go above and beyond every single day for our patients, and our work would be so much more difficult without them. We are incredibly grateful for all they do. Their compassion, dedication, and teamwork mean more than words can express.
We’re lucky to have Keeley and Rei, two wonderful caregivers who not only work so well together, but also bring so much heart to what they do.
Keeley, who has been a CNA for 8 years, shares:
“This job is super fulfilling and rewarding in a way most people never get to experience or see in their lifetime. My favorite part has to be the unique diversity of patients we get to care for, get to know, and soon love. It feels very full circle in a way.”
Rei, a CNA for nearly 14 years, says:
“I love being able to help people through the golden years of their lives. I enjoy getting to know not only our patients, but their families too. This job is so very meaningful, and it puts a smile on my face to be a light in people’s lives.”
These two incredible women are so appreciated, and we are thankful every day for the care they provide. We love our CNAs!

Did you know that one of the benefits of Hospice Care is our bereavement program for grieving families for 13 months after a loved one has passed? This includes support through phone contact, mailings and visits. These visits can be with a social worker and or our chaplain and all family members are eligible to receive bereavement services.
