Tax season is a wrap. πŸ’™

Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program made tax preparation easy for families across San Diego County.

Thanks to their dedication, Lifeline completed 269 tax returns and returned nearly $450,000 directly to our community, all at no cost to the families we serve.

A huge thank you to our 16 incredible volunteers and special thanks to our partners at 211 San Diego and United Way for making this season possible.

Last week we hosted our Intern Celebration to recognize the work of students completing their practicuum hours with Lifeline.

Each of our interns care deeply about people and their community. We had the joy of recognizing three outstanding interns whose compassion and dedication have not only inspired their peers but also made a real difference in guiding individuals and families we serve.

We are so proud of each of them and grateful for the time and energy they contributed to the Lifeline family. πŸ’™

A huge round of applause to our 2026 awardees:
πŸ† Brooke Wixom – Heart of Service Award
πŸ† Autumn Goranson – Team Spirit Award
πŸ† David Moran – Beacon of Compassion Award

Lifeline Community Services is honored to receive a $250,000 grant from San Diego Foundation's Unity Fund to help sustain our su***de prevention efforts.

Each year, this program reaches 6,000–10,000 young people across nine school districts, helping identify youth at risk, connect them with trusted adults, and ensure them and their families have the support they need.

With 1 in 6 high school students reporting serious thoughts of su***de, this work is more important than ever.

Thank you San Diego Foundation for investing in the well-being of San Diego's youth and families.

We’re honored to announce that Lifeline's afterschool program, Club Crown Heights, has been named a Bright Futures 2026 grantee by the Dr. Seuss Foundation and San Diego Foundation.

This grant directly supports our early literacy work, helping students build strong reading foundations that extend beyond the classroom, and open doors to futures filled with opportunity.

In fact, 98% of students participating in Club Crown Heights report feeling safer and more engaged in their community. We’re grateful to the Dr. Seuss Foundation and San Diego Foundation for their investment in the next generation.

What a sweet way to spend a Sunday! πŸ“ We had a great time connecting with the community at the Vista Strawberry Festival. It was wonderful to meet many new people, share what Lifeline is all about, and be part of one of North County's most beloved traditions.

Thank you to everyone that stopped by to say hello, and congratulations to the Vista Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a fun gathering. πŸ’š
