Today, thanks to our friends at Purdue Extension Wabash County, our Independent Living students stepped into a mock grocery store experience! 🛒

Student groups were each given a unique scenario, including a household size and a weekly grocery budget. Their challenge? Plan a week's worth of meals with at least one item from each food group on MyPlate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Experiences like this create space for learning and meaningful conversations about practical life skills, from reading nutrition labels and comparing prices to determining value and making thoughtful decisions within a budget.💙💚

Today our Wabash team gathered on campus for a cookout and carry-in. 💙💚

The work of helping children, teens, and families experience healthy second chances is only possible because of a community of people who care deeply and serve faithfully together. Moments like these remind us that taking time to connect with one another isn't separate from the mission, it's part of what sustains it.

We're grateful to be in this together.

🌺📸 Tacky Tourist Day was a success!

Residential Supervisor Zach and Residential Consultant Stephanie understood the assignment and showed up in full tourist mode.😎

The work our Residential team does is meaningful and often challenging, which is why we love making room for fun along the way. Building a culture where people can laugh together, connect, and enjoy the little moments helps make the hard work sustainable.

Because when the work you do matters, having fun together matters too.💙

Father's Day is right around the corner and we’re honoring the fathers, father figures, mentors, and steady men who show up with love and consistency.

Across our programs, we see how a present and caring male role model can change the direction of a child’s life. From simple gestures of respect to daily moments of connection, presence creates space for healing and hope.

We shared stories from our Family Services and Residential teams on the blog this month. Highlighting the quiet, powerful ways men help strengthen families.

Father absence affects millions of children — but so does the presence of one steady, loving father figure. At Josiah White's, we walk alongside fathers, foster families, and communities to bring healing and hope to young lives.

Healing often begins with a conversation.💙

In today's Love Ambassador interview, Corynn Hill talks with Bailey Winget, one of our therapists, about what she loves most about her work and the impact of showing up for young people each day.

We're grateful for the caring professionals who help students find hope, healing, and a path forward.

"We have come to realize that this was never about us.

It was not about us learning lessons, becoming these incredible parents, or earning "extra jewels" in our crowns in heaven.

This was about three teenage girls maintaining a connection with each other and their biological family."

This month, we're sharing Zach and Andie Bishop's testimony that they shared with their church community. Here's an honest reflection on the hard and holy work of opening your home to children in crisis.

Their story is yours to read: https://lnkd.in/eaH7PF8v

"The moment second chances cease is the moment we have obtained perfection, which none of us has achieved."💙

Brian Cook - a friend of Josiah White's - shared these words as he reflected on what second chances means to him.

That honesty is exactly why his voice matters in this series. Brian knows that every person is still growing, still learning, still becoming. And he trusts Josiah White’s because he sees that same belief lived out here every day. We don’t expect perfection. We walk with people as they try again, heal again, and rise again.

Brian’s reminder grounds us in the truth that second chances aren’t rare moments.

We invite you to follow along as more stories unfold and more voices share what a second chance has meant in their journey.

💙 Celebrating Our May Employee Recognition Winner, Nicole Roberts!

Each month, Josiah White’s staff nominate coworkers who go above and beyond while living out our Core Values: humble, effective, mission-driven, Christian, professional, and resilient.

This month, we’re proud to recognize Nicole Roberts for exemplifying what it means to be effective. Nicole was nominated for her leadership in developing the new Families First training for our Family Preservation staff. This has been a significant undertaking, and Nicole’s dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in bringing this project to life.

Congratulations, Nicole, and thank you for the impact you make every day!

And thank you to all of our nominees who help make Josiah White’s a place where people encourage one another, serve with purpose, and advance our mission together.
