There’s something pretty special about the Jim Abbott Memorial Golf Tournament. ⛳️❤️

Today is about so much more than golf. It’s about coming together as a community to honor Jim, celebrate his life, and continue the legacy of kindness, generosity, and love that he left behind.

And what better way to add a little extra meaning to the day than the sound of bagpipes filling the air. 🎶🇺🇸 There’s something about hearing those pipes that makes you pause, reflect, and appreciate the people and memories that bring us together.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who makes this day possible — the golfers, dinner guests, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who continues to show up year after year. Your support means more than you know.

Today, we golf. We gather. We remember. And we celebrate Jim. ❤️

The calm before the beautiful storm… of people! ⛳️

Today, we host the 6th Annual Jim Abbott Memorial Golf Tournament at Coffee Mill Golf Course, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Year after year, we are overwhelmed by the incredible support this event receives. This year, we’re preparing for 136 golfers, 40 dinner guests, 40+ volunteers, and nearly 100 sponsors. WOW! What an amazing community. ❤️

We’re gathered today for two very important reasons: to honor Jim’s life and legacy, and to invest in the future of care in Wabasha.

This year, proceeds will help support the development of the new Lifestyle Medicine Center—a project that has been five years in the making. The center will bring together therapy, wellness, and whole-person health in a new model of care designed to help people live healthier, fuller lives.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to show up, give generously, volunteer, sponsor, golf, dine, and help carry Jim’s legacy forward.

Here’s to a beautiful day honoring Jim and building a healthier future for our community! ⛳️❤️

Mark your calendars for next week's Kid's Day at the Farmers Market. We are excited to sponsor the prizes for the scavenger hunt again this year! Encourage your kids to bring a friend to the market 🥕🥗🫐

What a wonderful (and warm!) day at the Wabasha Farmers Market! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our local farmers, makers, musicians, and food vendor. We love seeing our community come together each week!

We also want to share information on Kids Day at the Wabasha Farmers Market next Wednesday, July 22, from 3:00–6:00 p.m.!

Bring the whole family for an afternoon packed with fun!

While the kids are having a blast, shop your favorite local vendors, enjoy live music by Ricky D & Cynthia Larsen, and grab a delicious meal from Los Padrinos Mexican Food Truck.

Mark your calendars and invite your friends and neighbors—it’s one of our favorite markets of the season, and we can’t wait to see all those smiling face

This weekend, our Wabasha community experienced an unimaginable tragedy on Lake Pepin. As we mourn the lives lost and hold the survivors, families, friends first responders, and medical team close in our hearts, we are reminded just how deeply connected we all are.

In the days and weeks ahead, we encourage everyone to check in on your friends, neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones. A simple phone call, a visit, a meal, or even just taking the time to listen can make a meaningful difference. Grief is often carried quietly, and many who are hurting may not ask for help.

To everyone directly impacted by this heartbreaking event, please know that you are not alone. Your community stands beside you. Together, we will support one another, extend grace and compassion, and help carry each other through the difficult days ahead.

From all of us at Emplify Health by Gundersen Wabasha Hospital and Clinics, we extend our deepest sympathy to every family and every person touched by this tragedy. May we continue to lean on one another, honor those we have lost, and find strength in the caring spirit that defines our community.

Exciting things are happening with our Lifestyle Medicine Expansion project, including the wellness center and pharmacy expansion! Staff from ISG, Emplify Health, and local team members recently came together for a planning workshop to share ideas and map out next steps. Behind the scenes, paperwork, planning, and other important work are keeping the project moving forward as we help shape a space that will support our community’s health and wellness needs.

We were honored to welcome Bishop Barron to Wabasha on Thursday, June 18. He joined us for Mass, spent time visiting with residents and staff, presented the Bishop’s Medal to Ed Passe's family, and shared lunch with our priests. Our resident priests, Fr. Meyer, Fr. Russell, Fr. Wilmont, and Msgr. Hargesheimer, along with Fr. Loomis and Deacon Hust from St. Felix Church, were able to join in this special day. It was a meaningful time filled with faith, fellowship, and gratitude. Thank you to everyone who helped make his visit so special.

Tribute to Ed Passe
We honor Ed Passe with The Bishop’s Medal in recognition of his faithful service to St. Felix Parish, his community, and his family. Ed lived a life marked by humility, generosity, and quiet strength. He served in many ways through his church, his work, and his community, always putting others first.

Ed’s faith, leadership, and commitment to service touched many lives in Wabasha and beyond. He will be remembered with gratitude and affection, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
