Happy CNA Week!
This week, we proudly celebrate and thank our CNA’s for the incredible care, compassion, and dedication they bring to our residents every day. CNAs are often the first to offer a comforting smile, a helping hand, or kind words during difficult moments. Your commitment to serving others makes a lasting difference in the lives of our residents, families, and fellow team members.
The work of a CNA goes far beyond daily tasks… it is about building relationships, providing comfort, and treating every resident with dignity and respect. We are grateful for the heart, patience, and professionalism you bring to our families and community each day. During CNA Week, and throughout the year, we thank our CNAs for the meaningful impact you make and for the care you provide. Your dedication inspires us all. Thank you to all the CNAs who make a difference, one act of kindness at a time.

Let’s Savor some Sweet Memories! June is National Candy Month. It may come as a surprise that National Candy Month is in June and not October when trick-or-treating takes center stage. June offers a sweet chance to revisit old favorites-like butterscotch discs, peppermints, or a classic chocolate bar—and savor the memories they bring. Candy has a long and fascinating history. Lollipops, for example, date back thousands of years, starting with dried fruit dipped in honey and placed on sticks. The modern lollipop was introduced in 1908 by George Smith, who named it after his horse, Lolly Pop, and patented the name in 1931.
For many, candy brings back fond memories of visiting the corner store and picking out “penny candy.” Classics like NECCO wafers, Bit-O-Honey, Dots, Good N’ Plenty, and Tootsie Rolls still hold a special place in the heart. Today’s favorites might include Sour Patch, gummy Bears, Reese’s, Nerds, and more.
Whether it’s an old-fashioned treat, a favorite, or a bold new flavor, take a moment to celebrate National Candy Month with a little something sweet. What’s your favorite Candy? Just remember and don’t go too crazy! Be sure to check with your physician to ensure your treats fit into your health plan.

National Hamburger Day celebrates America’s most iconic food. Americans eat over 50 billion burgers a year, so it’s only fitting we set aside a whole day for these special sandwiches. Originating in Hamburg, Germany, the hamburger as we know it was developed in Seymour, Wisconsin, a town still famous for its hamburger heroics. A baked bun, beef patty, mustard, ketchup, onion, pickles, with optional cheese. Convenient, cheap, and delicious, the world-famous burger has a storied and uncertain history. No one is quite sure about the origins of the hamburger, other than that it is eponymously named for the town of Hamburg in Germany.
Now it’s ALSO, National Brisket Day… YUM! Brisket comes from the breast area, and is separated into point cuts and flat cuts. Both have their own uses. The point cut is fatty, and full of connective tissue, which makes it a great candidate for braising or smoking. It’s also full of delicious flavor. The flat cut is no less flavorful, but can be much leaner, meaning that it requires a different preparation. Whatever your preference, grab some brisket today and celebrate!

Embracing Healthy Aging: Feel Your Best at Any Age
Aging is a natural part of life, but that doesn’t mean you can’t feel vibrant and full of energy. Prioritizing your well-being can help you stay active, happy, and engaged in the things you love.
One of the best ways to support healthy aging is by maintaining a positive outlook. Stress can take a toll on both your body and mind, so focus on what brings you joy. Engaging in activities you love, practicing mindfulness, and staying socially connected can boost both mood and overall well-being.
Nutrition plays a vital role in feeling your best. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fiber fuels your body and supports energy levels. Trying new recipes or cooking with friends can make healthy eating more enjoyable.
Regular exercise is key to maintaining strength, stamina, balance, and bone health. Incorporating both cardiovascular activities and strength training can help you stay mobile and independent.
Even simple activities like walking, stretching, or chair exercises can make a difference.
As we age, our bodies process nutrients differently.
If you’re concerned about getting enough essential vitamins and minerals, talk to your doctor about supplements that may support your energy and overall health.
Aging doesn’t mean slowing down-it’s an opportunity to embrace life with enthusiasm and confidence. By making small, positive choices, you can continue to thrive and make your golden years truly shine!

This Memorial Day, we take the day to honor and remember the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we hold dear, and today we have the opportunity to reflect with deep gratitude their commitment and bravery to service.
In healthcare, we are reminded of their values every day—service, compassion, and putting others first. Today, we remember their lives and honor the sacrifice they made for all of us. Their courage will never be forgotten, and their legacy lives on in the freedoms we cherish every day.
