We love a good heel moment—but choosing the right pair can make all the difference. 👠✨

Look for a wider toe box, a lower block heel or wedge, and a secure strap that keeps your foot from sliding forward. Your toes should have room to move, and you should be able to walk comfortably without gripping the shoe or feeling all the pressure under the ball of your foot.

Rosie says wear the heels. Dr. Sappington says choose them wisely—and keep a supportive backup pair nearby. 💗👣

A hot, swollen foot can be easy to dismiss—especially when there was no major injury. But for someone with diabetes and neuropathy, it may be a warning sign of Charcot foot, a serious condition that can quickly lead to fractures, collapse, and permanent deformity.

Do not “walk it off.” Protect the foot, limit pressure, and get evaluated promptly. Early diagnosis can make a major difference in preserving the shape, function, and future of the foot.

Okay, I’m a little proud of this one. 💚

Our very first Brazos Foot & Ankle blog is officially live—and of course Ralph had to help us launch it. 😂

If your first step out of bed feels like stepping directly onto a LEGO, this one is for you.

I explain why heel pain is often worse in the morning, when it may be plantar fasciitis, when it could be something else, and how I approach treatment based on what is actually causing the pain.

Read our first blog and let me know what foot or ankle question you want me to answer next!

Young athletes are tough—but they should not have to push through pain to prove it.

When an injury starts changing the way a child runs, plays, or keeps up with teammates, it deserves attention. The right diagnosis and treatment plan can help protect growing feet, prevent a lingering problem, and support a safer return to the game.

We want kids back doing what they love—stronger, more confident, and ready to play. 👣🏃‍♀️⚽

A podiatrist’s sneaker rotation has entered the chat. 👟👟👟

These are the three pairs you’ll actually catch Dr. Sappington wearing around the office—because supportive shoes can still be cute, comfortable, and practical.

Now we want to know: which pair would you pick?

Trust is one of the most important parts of patient care, and we never take it for granted.

We want every person who walks through our doors to feel heard, respected, and confident in their treatment plan. Reviews like this mean so much to our entire team because caring for our patients is truly the heart of what we do. 💚

Thank you for trusting us with your foot and ankle care.

Severe ankle arthritis can slowly shrink your world—fewer walks, fewer outings, and more planning around pain. But living with it is not always your only option.

Advanced ankle reconstruction may help the right patient move more comfortably while preserving more natural motion. The first step is finding out what is causing your pain and whether you are a candidate for a procedure designed around your goals, activity level, and lifestyle.

You may have more choices than you have been told. 👣

Some kids are naturally a little clumsy—but when stumbling starts to feel constant, it may be worth looking a little closer.

The way a child’s feet, ankles, and legs work together can affect confidence, activity, and development. An early evaluation can give parents peace of mind and help identify simple ways to support safer, more comfortable movement. 👣
