We treat medical, dental, and behavioral health needs for over 60,000 people in the Greater Waco area, McGregor, Temple, and Hillsboro. Waco Family Medicine welcomes Medicaid, Medicare, and accepts most insurance plans. Waco Family Medicine has the following programs available to assist our patients:

• Good Health Card: a discount only. Discounts can range from 50-80% and do not apply to outside laboratories and X-ray reading fees.
• Title V: provide initial prenatal care for women and medical and dental services for children who do not have medical coverage and do not qualify for any other assistance programs.
• Family Planning: A State funded program that assists men & women with family planning services. We can also help you apply for:
Medicaid, Chip Perinatal, SNAP, TANF, Healthy Texas Women, CHIP and Medicare Part D. Screenings for these programs will be held at the following locations:

You will need to bring an ID of everyone in your household, proof of residency through lease or utility bill, and proof of income in order to apply for these programs. The proof of residency and proof of income must be dated within 30 days from the day that you apply. Stay informed about your health by signing up for MyChart at www.mychart.wacofhc.org. MyChart will allow you to communicate with your care team, manage your appointments, access your labs and test results, and learn about your medications.

Starting October 14th, our patients will have more options and better guidance for self-scheduling their visits through their MyChart portal. It will be easier than ever scheduling the correct type of visits, including office visits, acute care visits, hospital follow-ups, well woman exams, and annual wellness visits.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available at Waco Family Medicine. They are available at our Central, Hillsboro, Temple, and McGregor clinics. The vaccine is recommended for adults 18 and older, adults 65+ and people with chronic conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, and children 6 months to 17 years.

The COVID-19 vaccines help our bodies develop immunity to the virus that causes COVID-19 without us having to get the illness. Getting the updated COVID vaccine helps lower the risk of hospitalization, sever illness, and long recovery times.

A transition in medical residency leadership is one of the most important moments in the life of a program, and it is with great pride that we name Zachary Sartor, MD, MPH, FAAFP, Program Director of the Waco Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Sartor knows firsthand the importance of primary care access in our community, as he completed his own residency here in Waco before joining our faculty. He also holds a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where his work focused on addiction and overdose, and he serves on the Texas Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors.

Flu Vaccines are here! If you are an established Waco Family Medicine patient, you do not need to make an appointment. Just head to your home clinic for a walk-in visit with our nursing team.

The flu vaccine is the best defense against the flu every year for anyone 6 months or older. It reduces your chances of getting the flu, and if you do get sick, your symptoms may be less severe. We recommend getting vaccinated before the end of October.
