Our Lakeview family is incredibly proud to celebrate an inspiring milestone for Connor Holcomb, son of Lakeview Clinic Internal Medicine physician Dr. Todd Holcomb.

Connor recently had the honor of carrying the torch at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony. It was a powerful moment that reflected his dedication and spirit of perseverance and community that Special Olympics represents.

Connor has been a member of our local Special Olympics Wild West team since he was just 7 years old, a 20 years of commitment to teamwork and determination. He participates in golf, bowling, flag football, floor hockey, and basketball.

Dr. Holcomb, has proudly coached several sports along the way. For the Holcomb family, Special Olympics has truly been a family affair.

Connor was nominated to carry the torch at this year's USA Summer Games in Minnesota in recognition of his involvement in the 2018 USA Games in Seattle, where he competed in swimming. There, Connor and his teammates brought home multiple gold and silver medals, showcasing not only athletic excellence but the power of hard work and dedication.

Congratulations, Connor! Thank you for inspiring all of us to lead with courage, determination, and heart. 🔥❤️

We are excited to partner with the Waconia Area Senior Center to offer "LEARN WITH LAKEVIEW" information sessions! Over the next 6 months, Lakeview physicians and medical providers will share information on various medical topics at the Waconia City Hall Council Chambers. These sessions are free and all are welcome! Registration is required and can be done so with the following link: https://www.waconiaseniorcenter.org/activities-programs

Dr. Bradley Ludwig will be the first to present in this series on July 2nd. He will talk about common ocular health issues such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, and more. Plenty of time will be dedicated to answering questions.

Light snacks will also be provided. Space is limited, so register soon!

Symptoms associated with low testosterone can have many possible causes. Now is a great time to schedule your child or teen's wellness visit. Getting these appointments done now will ensure you have required records, such as sports physicals & immunizations, completed and ready to go prior to this fall. 📝✅
Future you will thank you for having one less thing to worry about during the back to school rush. 😉
Don't forget, annual visits are still important for older kids & teens, even if they are healthy and up to date on their shots. Establishing a communicative relationship with their doctor and a thorough health history could be helpful if health issues arise later. Additionally, doctors can broach topics such as smoking, mental health concerns, and more to help kids make healthy choices.
