Sports season comes around fast, and so do registration deadlines!

Did you know many school athletic programs require a current sports physical before participation? Instead of scheduling a separate appointment, families can complete sports physical requirements during their child's annual wellness visit.

An annual wellness visit is about more than checking off boxes for sports. It's an opportunity to:

We have added more flu shot appointment times to our Saturday schedules at our Waconia clinic! Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling (952) 442-4461.

Weekday appointments are also availble if you prefer to schedule a shot only appointment at any Lakeview Clinic location. (Waconia, Chaska, NYA, Watertown)

If you choose, covid vaccines can be administered at the same time as flu shots.

Lakeview Clinic Family Medicine physician, Dr. Heidi Wuerger had a wonderful time today, bringing her positive energy to the AOA (Active Older Adult) Wellness Retreat in Carver.

Attendees learned that osteoporosis often develops without warning signs, and that calcium needs vitamin D for effective absorption. She also emphasized that weight-bearing exercise and balance training can help reduce fracture risk.

To keep things fun, Dr. Wuerger rewarded correct answers with gourds from her own garden. She truly enjoyed chatting with attendees and making bone health informative, approachable and fun.

Today, Lakeview Internal Medicine Physician, Tara McMichael, MD shared information about Osteoarthritis at the Waconia Area Senior Center. She explained common symptoms and risk factors, along with practical ways to protect joint health and manage discomfort.

Dr. McMichael emphasized low-impact exercise, stretching, balanced nutrition, healthy weight management and quality sleep. She also reviewed available treatments, including medications, injections and surgery when conservative approaches no longer provide adequate relief.
