đź’™ Community Support Makes a Difference đź’™

We are incredibly grateful to have been part of the Scott County Jail Resource Fair and to connect with individuals who are preparing for their next chapter.

Reentry can come with many questions and challenges. Having access to supportive resources — including mental health services, healthcare, housing, employment assistance, education, legal resources, parenting support, faith-based organizations, and more — can help individuals take those important first steps toward a healthier and more stable future.

At River Valley Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, we believe that everyone deserves access to support, compassion, and opportunities for positive change. Sometimes, simply knowing that resources and people are available can make a meaningful difference.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the organizations and representatives who participated, answered questions, shared information, and offered encouragement. We are proud to be part of a community that recognizes the importance of connection, support, and second chances.

Together, we can help build stronger individuals, families, and communities. đź’™

🕯️ LIGHT A CANDLE FOR SU***DE PREVENTION 🕯️
September 10, 2026 • 8:00 PM

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we invite you to light a candle and place it in your window at 8:00 PM on September 10th.

Let that light be a symbol of:

🕯️ Remembering loved ones we have lost to su***de
🕯️ Honoring survivors of su***de loss
🕯️ Standing beside those who are struggling
🕯️ Supporting hope, healing, and connection
🕯️ Reminding others that they are not alone

For some, this candle may represent someone deeply missed. For others, it may represent their own journey, a loved one who is struggling, or a commitment to helping prevent future loss.

One light can represent a life remembered.
One light can represent hope.
Together, our lights can remind our communities that every life matters.

đź’› Join us on September 10th at 8:00 PM. Light a candle. Place it in your window. Let your light be seen.

đź’› WORLD SU***DE PREVENTION DAY | SEPTEMBER 10 đź’›

Change the Narrative on Su***de

Today, we pause to reflect on how far su***de prevention has come—and the work that still lies ahead.

Changing the narrative means moving beyond silence, stigma, and assumptions. It means creating spaces where people feel safe to talk about their mental health, ask for help, and know that their lives matter.

Every conversation can make a difference.
Every moment of connection matters.
Every person who reaches out deserves to be heard.

💛 Let’s continue to:
• Talk openly about su***de and mental health
• Listen without judgment
• Encourage people to seek support
• Check in with the people around us
• Replace stigma with compassion and understanding
• Work together toward a future where no one feels alone

The movement has come a long way. But there is still work to do.

Today—and every day—let’s change the narrative, strengthen connection, and remind one another that help, hope, and healing are possible.

If someone is in immediate danger or thinking about su***de, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 for an emergency.

National Recovery Month | September 2026

Recovery is possible. And recovery looks different for everyone.

September is National Recovery Month, a time to celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of people on their recovery journeys and to recognize the families, friends, professionals, and communities who support them.

Recovery is not always a straight line. It can include setbacks, growth, new beginnings, and small victories that deserve to be celebrated.

đź’™ Recovery can mean:

Asking for help
Taking things one day at a time
Rebuilding relationships
Learning new ways to cope
Finding connection and support
Celebrating progress, even when it feels small

This month, let's reduce stigma, encourage compassion, and remind those on a recovery journey that they are not alone.

There is strength in asking for help.
There is hope in recovery.
Every step forward matters.

Recovery is possible. Hope is real.

đź’™ LABOR DAY & YOUR MENTAL HEALTH đź’™

Labor Day is a reminder that rest is important, too.

In a world that often encourages us to stay busy, productive, and constantly “on,” taking a break can feel difficult. But rest isn’t something you have to earn—it’s an important part of caring for your mental and emotional well-being.

This Labor Day, consider giving yourself permission to:

✨ Slow down
✨ Spend time with people who make you feel supported
✨ Step away from work and responsibilities when you can
✨ Do something that brings you joy
✨ Rest without feeling guilty
✨ Check in with yourself and acknowledge how you’re really doing

You are more than what you accomplish. Your worth is not measured by your productivity. đź’—

From all of us at River Valley Behavioral Health & Wellness Center, we wish you a safe, peaceful, and restorative Labor Day. 🇺🇸

Have a safe, relaxing, and wonderful Labor Day!

We will resume regular office hours on Tuesday, September 8th.

đź’™ September is Su***de Prevention Month đź’™

Su***de prevention starts with connection, compassion, and being willing to have the conversation.

Sometimes, the people who are struggling the most may not look like they are. A simple “How are you really doing?” can open the door to a conversation that matters.

If you’re concerned about someone:
• Listen without judgment.
• Take them seriously.
• Ask directly about su***de—asking does not put the idea in someone’s head.
• Encourage them to connect with a mental health professional or other trusted support.
• Help them stay connected and safe, especially during a crisis.

If you are struggling, you don't have to navigate it alone. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. There is help, and things can change.

📞 Call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
🚨 If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

This month—and every month—let’s make space for honest conversations, listen with compassion, and remind one another:

You matter. Your life matters. You don't have to face this alone. đź’™
