You don’t need another Monday restart, you don’t need to wait for life to slow down, and you definitely don’t need to the all or nothing mindset to see progress.

My Creating Boundaries & Consistency 4 week group starts September 1st and is about learning how to actually follow through, even when life gets busy.

We’ll work on setting boundaries, breaking the all or nothing cycle, creating realistic routines, protecting your priorities, and building consistency that doesn’t disappear the second your schedule gets chaotic.

Doing the same thing you’ve been doing and wondering why you’re not seeing different results? That might be your sign that something needs to change. 👏🏼
And you don’t have to take that from me. Take it from my clients. These are real women with busy schedules, real life happening around them, and goals they were tired of putting on the back burner. They decided to make a change, trusted the process, stayed consistent, and they just keep going. If what you’ve been doing isn’t getting you where you want to go, let’s change it.

School is back, which means my days look a little different again! But one thing that isn’t changing? I’m still prioritizing my health, nutrition, and, of course, showing up for my 1:1 nutrition clients.

Because I know I’m not the only one adjusting to a new routine right now. Whether you’re back in the classroom, working full time, running kids from one thing to the next, or juggling all of the above, nutrition can quickly become the thing that gets pushed to the side. But a busy schedule doesn’t mean your goals have to go with it.

Here are 5 things I’m focusing on as I get back into my school routine:

1️⃣ Protein first. Starting my day with a protein packed breakfast makes the rest of my day so much easier.

2️⃣ Keep easy options on hand. Protein yogurt, cottage cheese, meat sticks, fruit, veggies & Greek yogurt dip — nothing fancy, just things I can grab when the day gets hectic.

3️⃣ Keep the water bottle close. If it’s sitting next to me, I’m drinking it. Simple as that. 😂 (also find a favorite cup that you actually drink from, not just a pretty one.)

4️⃣ Pack a lunch that actually keeps me full. Protein, carbs, fats & some fruits or veggies. A salad that leaves me starving an hour later isn’t helping.

5️⃣ Think ahead. I don’t need an entire Sunday spent meal prepping, but taking a few minutes at night to pack my lunch, prep breakfast, or plan tomorrow’s meals makes a HUGE difference.

Your routine might change with the season, but that doesn’t mean your goals need to take a backseat. Sometimes we just need to adjust HOW we’re showing up.

And if you’re heading into this busy season knowing you could use some accountability and a plan that actually works with your schedule, I would love to talk about my 1:1 coaching opportunities.

Back to school grocery haul from Hy-Vee 🛒

Fruits for the week: bananas, apples, blueberries, and a watermelon

Vegetables: spaghetti squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, green peppers (for homemade salsa, yummmmy), cauliflower, and arugula (Bo uses on his fancy sandwiches)

Frozen broccoli for easy meal prep or quick supper veggie.

Couple of protein options for the week: salmon to help with omega 3s and chicken.

Veggies from our garden and Allyson Hamilton ‘s 🤪

Tuna to keep in my desk for a quick protein option if needed or if I forget my lunch.

Excited to try these rice packs!

Heavier carbs: daves killer bread is my fav. I’ve always loved 3 Farm Daughters noodles but excited to try Rao’s. Both have 2 ingredients.

Dairy: fairlife always, Bo’s favorite flavor of Chobani, and a couple of protein yogurts. (I choose Oikos because it doesn’t have the same added sugar as other brands)

Lemon lime poppi for our peach smoothies & Shirley temple bloom for a fun drink.

A cold evening snack that’s good for you (in moderation!!!)

Excited to try these for sauces, seeds, etc!

Sauces. The best way to spice up your meals.
Excited to try these tallow spray.
We love the Siete sauces on tacos!

Top knot Thursday but make it Friday and a post.
Everything you do is a choice. Getting dressed, brushing your teeth, working out, not working out, sleeping in, eating well, sitting around or walking. It’s all a choice. You can say yes or no to every single thing.
My choice yesterday was to make this chipotle bowl for breakfast before we preg checked heifers all morning. It took me 3 minutes to warm up in the microwave because I made the choice earlier this week to prep food. This meal fueled me and didn’t leave me starving in 30 minutes. Breakfast doesn’t have to be your typical choices. It can be what makes you feel good for the day. It’s a choice. I could’ve chose to skip and feel sluggish, a donut, or whatever other item but I chose my goals.
Often times in the health & fitness world, clients and others want to claim they had no choice when there was one and they wanted to easy choice. Your journey wasn’t meant to be easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it. That’s where it’s ok to say no to things that don’t align with your goals, no to the extra dessert or drinks with friends, no to crap food that makes you feel even worse. You don’t have to say no to going but say yes to your goals. Make the choice to align yourself instead of the easy route everyone else takes. Make the choice to choose you.

1. Winging it all week
2. Hitting your protein with nothing prepped.
3. Resisting eating out or fast food when you’re exhausted.
4. Not blowing your calories by noon because you have no plan.
5. Starting over every Monday.
Bonus:
6. Saying no to friends who want to eat out or eat crap food…

Take 30 minutes and prep yourself for the week so you can actually hit your goals instead of caving to your coworkers, the gas station, fast food, skipping meals, or just not caring. If it’s a priority act like it.
