There are some moments you learn not to take for granted. This is one of them. ❤️

After being away for several months, stepping back behind this podium and into my role as a Certified Life Celebrant has carried more emotion than I can put into words. I truly never thought I would see this happen again.

To the families who have trusted me to stand before the people they love and speak on behalf of someone who can no longer speak for themselves—thank you.

Thank you for trusting me with their stories.
Their memories.
Their laughter.
Their love.
Their life.

It is an incredible honor to help bring the heart of a person into the room one more time—to honor not only the life they lived, but the soul and spirit of who they were.

And after everything these past several months have held, I am incredibly grateful to God for allowing me to slowly step back into something I love so deeply: serving families.

I may not be back in my high heels just yet… 😂
And if you pay close enough attention during a service, there’s a pretty good chance you might catch this Certified Life Celebrant standing behind the podium barefoot. 👣

For now, I’m just thankful to be standing there at all. ❤️

To every family who has trusted me again—thank you. It means more than you know.

♥️Anita Jo

Heaven means something different when someone you love is already there. ♥️

We spend our lives missing their voice, their laugh, their hugs, and all the little things we once took for granted. But for those who believe, there is hope in knowing that goodbye is not forever. And we will be reunited.

Who’s the first person you’re running to when you get to Heaven?

Say their name in the comments. Let’s fill this space with the names of people who are loved, missed, and never forgotten.

Death anniversaries are strange.

The world doesn’t stop. The water keeps flowing. The sun still rises. People go to work, laugh, make dinner and go about an ordinary day.

But for someone grieving, there are dates that the heart remembers even when we wish it wouldn’t.

Sometimes grief doesn’t need to be fixed. Sometimes we simply need permission to feel it, to say their name, visit a special place, sit beside the water, pray, cry, tell stories, or just be still.

And sometimes, hearing how someone else survived that day helps us survive ours. ♥️

If you’ve walked through the anniversary of losing someone you love, what has helped you get through that day?

Share below. Your words may be exactly what another grieving heart needs today.

Some moments are too sacred for ordinary words. ♥️ Last Saturday we had the honor of honoring the life of Elmer “Dick” Shanahan.

Tell me, how is Heaven? Is it everything they say?

Behind every casket is a life that mattered. A story. A family. A lifetime of memories that deserve to be honored with intention.

For us, this is more than setting up a service or arranging flowers. It is creating a sacred space where a family can gather, remember, grieve, and begin the journey of healing.

Because a final goodbye should feel like the life being remembered. ♥️

More than a service… a sacred send-off.♥️Anita Jo

Deborah Mae Divine (Pattieshaw)
February 12, 1952 – July 24, 2026

Deborah Mae Divine, age 74, of Wagoner, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2026.

Debbie was born on February 12, 1952, in San Bernardino, California, to Clyde Herman Pattieshaw and Dorraine Mae Pattieshaw (Heath).

Debbie spent many years working as a cook at Tulsogee Camp on Fort Gibson Lake, where she enjoyed serving others and made many lasting friendships. She found great joy in quilting, crocheting, and spending time with the people she loved.

Debbie had a one-of-a-kind personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a special way of making everyone feel like family. She was famous for giving people unforgettable nicknames and using her own unique slang. If you knew Debbie, chances are you answered to a name like “Bubba J,” “Little Girl,” “Muffin,” or “Pudden”—along with a few others that are probably best left unprinted. Her laughter, quick wit, and stubborn streak—which she would probably insist was simply determination—will be remembered with smiles by all who knew and loved her.

Debbie is lovingly survived by her son, Justin Heitman, and his wife, Catherine Heitman; her son, Marc Acuff; and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.

In accordance with Debbie’s wishes, no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to:

DAV Mays County Chapter #43
P.O. Box 393
Pryor, OK 74337-3403
Phone: (918) 645-4625

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.

Debbie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Healing doesn’t always happen inside four walls. Neither does saying until we meet again. ❤️

Over these past months, God has used this creek, this water, and this little piece of earth to bring healing back into my life. And along the journey, He has continued to place little reminders in front of me including Sampson that there is still so much beauty waiting on the other side of hard seasons.

Maybe that’s part of why 14 Mile Creek Retreat has become so special to my heart.

I want families to know that honoring someone you love doesn’t have to look like what we’ve always been told it should look like.

It can be sitting together on a creek bank.

Around a fire as the sun goes down.

Barefoot beside the water.
Sharing stories, playing their favorite music, praying, laughing, crying—and simply remembering.

And yes, even if you choose to hold that ceremony yourself.

Because a meaningful goodbye isn’t about a building, a pulpit, or doing things a certain way.

It’s about creating a sacred space to honor a life and allowing healing to begin.

That is part of the heart behind 14 Mile Creek Retreat.

Sometimes the most sacred places don’t have walls.
