Gong Hei Fat Choi!!
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse (specifically Yang Fire), commencing Feb 17, 2026, marking a shift toward high-energy, rapid movement, and intense activity. In TCM, this year emphasizes balancing the Fire element—governing the Heart and Shen (spirit)—by preventing burnout and managing excess heat through cooling foods, emotional regulation, and rest.
TCM Energetic Themes & Health Focus
• Fire Element Dominance: Fire relates to joy, consciousness, and circulation. The high energy of this year can lead to rapid “Fire” imbalances, such as anxiety, insomnia, palpitations, and irritability.
• Heart & Shen Health: With the heart heavily taxed by intense energy, focusing on calming the spirit (Shen) is crucial.
• Managing “Excess Heat”: To balance the fiery energy, TCM recommends consuming cooling foods like cucumber, watermelon, mint, berries, and leafy greens.
• Grounding Measures: Regular, gentle movement (yoga, walking, Qigong) is advised over high-intensity exercise to prevent burnout and regulate the nervous system.
Key Advice for the Year
• Protect Sleep: Prioritize resting to support Heart Yin.
• Balance Action with Rest: While the Horse favors speed and progress, downtime is essential to avoid exhaustion.
• Emotional Regulation: Utilize meditation or deep breathing to stay centered amidst fast-paced change.
This year is considered ideal for taking bold, calculated risks but requires conscious effort to maintain internal balance.

Interesting point made by an athlete comparing acupuncture by a Licensed Acupuncturist or Doctor of Acupuncture Medicine to that of Dry Needling by another medical professional with much less training.
All of our acupuncturists are board certified and have extensive experience.
