"Can't you just test my hormones?"
It's one of the most common questions we hear — and it's a completely reasonable one. You feel different. You want proof.
Here's the tender truth: in perimenopause, your hormones fluctuate so much that a single blood draw can look "normal" on your worst week and "menopausal" on a good one. That normal result you were handed? It never had the power to rule out what you're feeling.
Perimenopause is a clinical diagnosis — it lives in your pattern, not in one number. And testing still has a real job: under 45, without a period as a clock, or when we need to rule out the thyroid and iron issues that impersonate it.
And when we do test, we test strategically — timed to your cycle and your situation, and looking beyond hormones to the drivers of imbalance: inflammation, vitamin deficiencies, insulin resistance, metabolic risk.
