Public Service Announcement (from the founder)
I am posting this because I have always been a proponent of clean water and clean air.
Let’s face it, what’s the use in trying so hard to watch everything you put in your body if you are drinking and bathing in contaminated water?
I have a whole house water filtration system and an RO under the sink. But guess what? I can’t get the company who installed them to service them properly.
Yes, you Need clean water! We all need clean water! I want to encourage viewers to get a good water filtration system but ONLY if it is properly maintained. If it’s not regularly serviced it is NOT SAFE!
⚠️ Your water filter could be making your water WORSE:
Here's what almost nobody tells you. City water is chlorinated to keep bacteria down all the way to your tap. Carbon filters strip that chlorine out — which means an unmaintained filter can become a warm, wet, nutrient-rich breeding ground for bacteria.
And the science is sobering:
🔬 A peer-reviewed study in Scientific Reports (Nature) found home filtration devices can "significantly deteriorate" tap water quality by harboring biofilm and sludge. [1]
🔬 A 2026 research review concluded these systems are "not necessarily safer than tap water" — and were often more contaminated than the water feeding them, with Legionella and Pseudomonas among the risks. [2]
🔬 A 2024 study documented that the post-carbon stages of household purifiers are linked to secondary microbial pollution of the treated water. [3]
🔬 In one widely reported study, tap water tested clean — but about 60% of filtered samples showed dramatically higher bacterial counts. [4]
CONCLUSION:
💡A filtration system that isn't serviced on schedule doesn't just stop helping — it can become a serious health hazard. This is a huge deal for those of us already struggling with life threatening illnesses and the immunocompromised.
💡If you have a whole-house filter, RO system, or fridge/pitcher filter and can't remember the last time it was serviced, change the cartridges or get your water tested.
👊And if you're paying a company for a maintenance plan? Hold them to it. Your health depends on it. 💧

Neglected home water filters can breed bacteria, worsening the very tap water they promise to purify.
