Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission is proud to share that we have been awarded the 2025-2026 New Jersey Influenza Honor Roll!

Seasonal influenza is a common virus that can have devastating consequences, making it extremely important to institute community-based efforts to reduce the burden of disease. Flu vaccination is important for everyone, especially to protect those at high risk of serious flu complications. This includes very young children, pregnant women, individuals 65 years of age and older, and those with certain long-term medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, or heart disease.

We are happy to play this small part in keeping our residents healthy!

Get Repost App • NJ Department of Environmental Protection ⚠️An Air Quality Action Day for Particulate Matter (PM2.5) has been declared for Friday, July 17th.

PM2.5 levels will remain elevated in the Unhealthy category statewide on Friday as a dense plume of Canadian wildfire smoke continues to impact the region. Some members of the general public may experience health effects, while members of sensitive groups, including those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, and the young, may experience more serious health effects.

All individuals should limit strenuous activities and the amount of time active outdoors especially in the evening hours. Additionally, mostly sunny skies, residual pollution from days prior, and light variable winds will allow ozone levels to remain elevated in the Moderate category statewide, with the chance for isolated USG levels in southern portions of the state.

The forecast will be closely monitored as a regionally deteriorated air mass is expected to continue through the remainder of the week.
