☀️ DID YOU KNOW?

Some medications can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, increasing your risk of sunburn or other skin reactions.

Certain antibiotics, diuretics, acne medications, and other commonly used medicines may cause sun sensitivity.

If you’re taking medication:
✔️ Check the label for sun-exposure warnings
✔️ Use broad-spectrum sunscreen
✔️ Wear protective clothing when outdoors
✔️ Ask your pharmacist or healthcare provider if you’re unsure

Don’t stop taking a medication because of sun sensitivity without first talking with your healthcare provider.

A little knowledge can help you enjoy the sunshine safely. 💙

Step inside the Carnegie Public Library, circa 1953. From the beautiful exterior to the shelves and reading spaces inside, these photos offer a glimpse into what a trip to the library looked like more than 70 years ago.

Who remembers spending time here? Did you check out books, study, or have a favorite corner of the library?

We’d love to hear your memories in the comments. 💙

🌫️ Wildfire Smoke: How to Protect Yourself

Wildfire smoke can affect anyone, but it’s especially important for children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and people with heart or lung conditions to take extra precautions.

Here are a few ways to stay safe:

✔️ Stay indoors when air quality is poor.
✔️ Keep windows and doors closed.
✔️ Use an air purifier or run your HVAC system with a clean filter if available.
✔️ Avoid strenuous outdoor activities until air quality improves.
✔️ If you must be outside for an extended period, consider wearing a well-fitting N95 mask.

If you’re experiencing persistent coughing, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or worsening asthma symptoms, contact your healthcare provider. If symptoms are severe, seek emergency medical care.

A little preparation can go a long way in protecting your health during wildfire season. Stay safe, Walla Walla. 💙

💙 Mental Health Matters

Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious from time to time is part of being human. But if those feelings begin to interfere with your daily life, relationships, or overall well-being, it’s important to know you’re not alone—and help is available.

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

Simple ways to support your mental well-being:
🌿 Get regular exercise
😴 Prioritize quality sleep
💬 Talk with someone you trust
🌞 Spend time outdoors
🧘 Take a few moments each day to pause and breathe

If anxiety or stress has been weighing on you, don’t hesitate to talk with your healthcare provider. Sometimes, the first step is simply starting the conversation.

Your health matters—inside and out. 💙
