🍷☀️What an incredible weekend at the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival with the Walnut Creek Wellness Alliance!

I loved spending time with our community, pouring delicious wine, enjoying perfect Walnut Creek weather, and meeting so many wonderful people.

❤️Most of all, I loved standing alongside amazing docs Dr. Manita Nat of and Dr. Belma Sadikovic of Direct Neurology, who are helping redefine what healthcare can be. Doctors in the community, who care about you and make time for you.

Dr. Nat said it perfectly: “This is what medicine looks like when doctors actually show up.”

So grateful to the and for bringing us together and creating opportunities to connect beyond the exam room. This is the kind of medicine our community deserves.

What I actually recommend for congestion, runny nose, and post-nasal drip

Here are some over-the-counter go-tos that are recommended for these symptoms:

💧 Saline nasal spray (especially ones with xylitol) — helps rinse, moisturize, and clear things out naturally

🌿 Flonase (fluticasone) — reduces inflammation so you can breathe again

💊 Azelastine — a great antihistamine spray for allergies and drip

🌫️ Humidified air — dry air makes everything worse, add moisture back in

🥤 Fluids — underrated… staying hydrated thins mucus and helps it move

Sometimes the basics really are the best.

Sudafed OM nasal sprays? These products all look the same and all contain oxymetazoline — and while it can work fast, I don’t typically recommend it. It can cause rebound congestion. You end up needing it more and more. Using it for more than a couple days can actually affect your blood pressure and your heart.

There are better, safer options for longer-term relief 🙌

It’s been an exhausting few months—leaving a large medical system, building my new practice, moving offices, hiring new staff… all while still seeing my amazing patients and juggling life with my sweet kids & awesome husband. Grateful for this journey and excited to keep growing my solo practice, Tarantino Medical Group, Inc.

Grateful to have attended the ACOFP Annual Convention! Being surrounded by fellow Osetoepathic docs reminds me how proud I am to be a DO and why we do what we do. Leaving inspired, recharged, excited to grow my solo practice with the support of an incredible community of colleagues across the country. Here’s to continuing to show up for our patients and their wellness every day!
