Shelley Fabares died on Aug. 22 at the age of 82. She first enjoyed success as Mary on ‘The Donna Reed Show’ and later received Emmy nominations for her role on ‘Coach.’ She also had a No. 1 single with ‘Johnny Angel’ and starred in three movies with Elvis Presley.

Our Walnut Creek folks couldn't find a leprechaun, so they delivered goodies themselves to the devoted healthcare heroes at VITAS Innovative Hospice and local care facilities.

Rest in peace, Catherine.

Catherine Hatsue Ferguson was born in Paia, a small plantation town on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Cathy was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, loved by all. She studied to become an administrative assistant at the Cannon School of Business, and one of her first assignments was in Japan, where she met and eventually married the love of her life, Charles Ferguson III, who preceded her in death in 2003. Charles and Cathy retired to Sonoma to be near their only child, where they enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with grandchildren and friends. She also enjoyed bowling and playing bocce ball. Cathy spent the last years of her life in Walnut Creek at the Kensington, where staff took excellent care of her with much compassion and kindness.

Her ashes will be scattered at sea back home off the coast of Maui in a private service.
