We’re excited to share that Uplift Home Care is an approved GUIDE Respite provider. This HUGE!

For the first time, Medicare is now covering a portion of respite care for eligible families caring for a loved one with dementia through the new GUIDE Model program.

That is a major shift.

The GUIDE Model is designed to provide dementia support, care coordination, caregiver education, and now even help cover a portion of respite care so caregivers can finally take a breath knowing their loved one is in good hands.

Family caregivers are carrying an enormous emotional, physical, and financial load behind the scenes, and for many families, respite care has simply felt financially out of reach.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help more families access trusted in-home support and a little relief along the way ❤️ If you know someone who could benefit from respite care please feel free to connect them with us.

One of the things we hoped to build with Uplift was a home care experience that felt personal from the very first phone call.

Not rushed. Not transactional. Not “you’ll hear from someone Monday.” Knowing that a family felt supported, cared for, and able to depend on us during that time means more than we can say.

We’re so thankful for the trust families place in us, and proud of the AMAZING caregivers who make experiences like this possible every day.

We are so happy to celebrate Trenecia as our Caregiver of the Month for May!

Fun fact: Trenecia officially holds the record at Uplift for the fastest turnaround from orientation to first shift. She was ready to jump in and help right away, which says so much about her strong work ethic and dedication.

With years of caregiving experience, including dementia care, medication management, companionship, transportation, meal preparation, and personal assistance, Trenecia has a calm confidence and beautiful smile that puts clients and families at ease. She has a heart for serving others and finds fulfillment in helping people feel safe, supported, and cared for.

Whether she’s engaging a client in conversation, preparing a meal, helping with daily routines, or just showing up with consistency and kindness, Trenecia is someone you can count on. Thank you, Trenecia, for the incredible work you do and for representing the heart of caregiving so beautifully. We are so lucky to have you as part of the Uplift family!

Our girls hear a lot about our amazing caregivers at the dinner table… and these two names come up a lot.

So when they finally got to meet the legends who are, Harinder and Candiss, at our anniversary celebration earlier this year, it felt a little like a celebrity sighting.

We are so thankful to have not just the kind of caregivers you appreciate, but those who you would trust with your own family.

Loved attending the Meals on Wheels ribbon cutting alongside our other partners in care like Grace and Glory Hospice. As a home care provider, we connect with their mission to support seniors right at home, and we’re excited to welcome them as our new neighbors down the street here in the Shadelands!

We had some good laughs learning a few slang words from each generation and watching a funny video during this presentation.

What's fascinating is that assisted living communities are one of the only environments where 5 to 6 different generations intersect daily! And yet, we rarely talk about how differently those generations communicate.

Instead of another presentation on the usual health and aging topics (though those are very important too!), I had the opportunity to bring something a little unexpected to The Kensington at Walnut Creek: a conversation around generational differences, communication styles, and how to better connect across age groups.

Our friends at Mt. Diablo Village invited us to speak at one of their MDV Learns events, and I walked away learning just as much!

I had the chance to present following David Benet from Mobility Matters, a fantastic resource providing rides for older adults.

And what makes Mt. Diablo Village so critical is that their volunteers may be the first to notice when someone could use need a little extra support. And when needs go beyond what they can offer, that’s where collaboration comes in to help people continue living safely and comfortably at home

This was meant to be an activity for residents… but the CNAs passing by may have enjoyed it just as much!

We brought herb sachet making to Shadelands Post Acute, and the calming scent of lavender, eucalyptus, and rose had staff stopping in for a quick moment of relaxation during their busy shifts.

We have such high respect and appreciation for CNAs. At Uplift Home Care, many of our caregivers are CNA-certified, and we see firsthand the skill and hard work they bring every day. Thankful to get to bring this activity to residents and staff alike!
