One of the best parts of being a home care agency is getting in a room with other people who really understand what it takes to run this business.

We recently had lunch with several other home care owners who are either using MapleCare, an AI tool built specifically for home care, or considering it, and it was such a great conversation!

Uplift Home Care Walnut Creek was fortunate to be one of MapleCare’s early adopters, and we’ve had the opportunity to work closely with the founder and his team as the platform has grown. It has made a HUGE impact on our day-to-day operations.

The hiring piece alone has been a game changer for us. We’ve been able to move incredibly quickly when a great caregiver applies, while also taking a huge amount of administrative work off our team’s plate.

But what we appreciate most about MapleCare is that it isn’t just about replacing tasks with AI. It’s about giving home care owners and their teams more time to do the things that actually require a human being: building relationships, supporting caregivers, talking with families and caring for clients.

Thank you to the MapleCare team for inviting us into the conversation and for continuing to build technology specifically for our industry. And thank you to the other home care owners who joined us for such an open and valuable conversation.

Home care is better when we share what’s working. And this is definitely something we’re excited to share.

Getting up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday to get ready and head out to set up for something you really care about? Easy yes! And what a remarkable Saturday morning it was.

A packed room. And a speaker lineup that felt more like a national conference than a local senior symposium.

Dr. Bruce Miller, world-renowned neurologist and Director of UCSF’s Memory and Aging Center, was one of the featured speakers. He’s been elected to the National Academy of Medicine, received the Potamkin Award from the American Academy of Neurology, and has appeared on Good Morning America, 60 Minutes, PBS NewsHour and a Diane Sawyer special on Bruce Willis.

Dr. Matthew Wynn, a clinical psychologist specializing in geropsychology, spoke about the emotional side of major life transitions.

And George Noceti of Morgan Stanley, who has been featured across ABC, KTVU and KCBS, rounded out an incredible lineup.

And the best part? People were engaged. Asking questions, taking notes, having conversations and clearly wanting to learn.

Uplift Home Care was honored to be part of Lafayette’s 17th Annual Senior Symposium. A huge thank you to the Lafayette Community Foundation for putting together such an impactful morning!

There are some pretty special organizations right in our own backyard here in The Shadelands, and Diablo Ballet is one of them.

We recently had the chance to visit their beautiful new home just around the corner from us at at 490 N. Wiget Lane and we were reminded just how much they do beyond the stage.

One program that we especially love is their Dance for Parkinson’s class, which uses music and movement to support coordination, balance, flexibility and strength. The class can be done standing or seated, no dance experience is needed, and Parkinson’s patients and their caregivers can attend for free.

We love having neighbors like Diablo Ballet in our community. They’re creating beautiful experiences, making dance more accessible, and giving people another way to connect, move and be part of something joyful.

We are so excited to celebrate Tomeica as our Caregiver of the Month!

Tomeica joined the Uplift team just this summer, but she immediately jumped right in. She has taken shift after shift, worked with many fast start clients, and has been someone we can always count on.

As a CNA with years of experience in both skilled nursing and in-home care, Tomeica brings a wonderful combination of skill, confidence and compassion to every client she works with. She is capable, adaptable and always ready to help.

But what really stands out about Tomeica is her attitude. She is a bright light. She brings such a positive energy with her, and she has a way of making people feel comfortable almost immediately.

We are so grateful to have Tomeica on our team and for everything she has brought to Uplift in such a short time.

Congratulations, Tomeica! We appreciate you!

Last week we celebrated Candiss’s one-year anniversary with Uplift over lunch at Social Bird in Lafayette.

Candiss has officially been in her new Care Coordinator role for over 30 days now, and she is absolutely rocking it! We spent the afternoon making a few stops at local senior living communities, including one where Candiss provided one-on-one companion care for her very first Uplift client. It was pretty special to walk back in with her in this new role, seeing familiar faces and being reminded of just how far she’s come in less than a year.

And then there’s Candiss herself. She is so much FUN!!! The kind of person who can make you laugh so hard your side hurts. If you know Candiss, you KNOW what we're talking about. In a business that can be serious and challenging, we’re so thankful for the combination she brings to the table: a sharp clinical mind, a wealth of hands-on experience, and those much-needed lighthearted moments. She brings that same joy to our caregivers and clients and embodies the very essence of Uplift.

Candiss, we’re so lucky to have you. This is just the beginning, and we couldn’t be more excited about where you’re headed.

Fried chicken, BBQ chicken, all the fixings and plenty of wet wipes for the team at Sunrise Senior Living in Danville.

This amazing community is hiring!

We always love walking through the doors of Atria Walnut Creek, and we were so touched to be invited to their Pearls & Prosecco celebration last week honoring the company’s 30th anniversary!

The staff here is so warm and approachable, and we love seeing the residents having fun and staying connected, with such great turnouts at the many social events they plan.

So, when we learned they’re looking for a Community Sales Associate, we wanted to share the opportunity. From what we’ve seen firsthand, this would be a wonderful place to work and a great team to be part of.
