Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

At Alameda Care Hospice, we are especially mindful of the veterans and military families we are privileged to serve. Memorial Day is a reminder to cherish the freedoms we have because of those who selflessly protected them.

We hold space today for remembrance, gratitude, and reflection. Honoring the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice and the loved ones who carry their memory forward.

In hospice, you walk alongside patients and families during some of life’s most meaningful and vulnerable moments. You bring comfort when it’s needed most, dignity when it matters most, and a steady presence that never goes unnoticed.

A big thank you to Care Crafts for spending their Sunday spreading joy and kindness with us. 💐💛

Today they came in and created beautiful Easter cards for our patients, and it truly means so much. These small but heartfelt gestures bring comfort, smiles, and a reminder to our patients that they are thought of and cared for.

🟣 Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day 2026

Today we recognize Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day. A day to raise our voices for those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and for the families who walk beside them every step of the way.

As a hospice agency, we have the privilege of caring for many patients and families navigating this difficult journey. Alzheimer’s is more than memory loss—it slowly changes the way someone communicates, connects, and experiences the world. It also asks so much of the caregivers who love them.

For many of us, this cause is not only professional—it’s deeply personal. Watching someone you love live with Alzheimer’s means learning to hold onto moments in new ways. A familiar smile, a hand squeeze, a quiet moment together. Moments matter.

Today we advocate for:
💜 Greater awareness and education
💜 Support for caregivers and families
💜 Continued research toward prevention and a cure
💜 Compassionate care for those living with the disease

To the families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s—you are not alone. Your strength, patience, and love are seen every single day.

Today, Alameda Care Hospice had the honor of hosting our 2025 Memorial Tree Planting in loving memory of the patients we were privileged to serve this past year.

This year, we planted a Chinese Pistache — The tree resembles vitality, transformation and enduring spirit- it’s resilient, vibrant and visually powerful. The brilliant fall colors can represent lives that continue to shine brightly and in memory, even as seasons change.

We are deeply grateful to the families, team members, and community who joined us to reflect, remember, and celebrate lives so beautifully lived.

Today, we pause to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, a leader whose message of compassion, dignity, and service continues to guide us.

At Alameda Care hospice, we are reminded every day that caring for one another is powerful work. Dr. King taught us that “everybody can be great, because anybody can serve.” We see that truth reflected in the small, meaningful moments shared with patients and families- listening, comforting, and walking alongside one another with love and respect.

On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we continue to commit ourselves to serving with empathy, advocating for dignity at every stage of life, and leading with kindness in all that we do. 💙
