This morning, it happened.

The first patient walked through the door. We sat down together, took our time, and talked about what actually matters. No rushing, no clock watching, no system getting in the way.

This is why I built Triana MD and today, it finally feels real.

To everyone who encouraged me along the way: thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you've been thinking about joining, I would love to hear from you.

Something I've been working toward for a long time is finally here, enrollment at Triana MD is officially open!
Triana MD is a Direct Primary Care practice opening June 1st in Walnut Creek, built around the kind of medicine I've always believed in. Unhurried visits. A physician who knows your whole story. Direct access to me by phone, text, or video, without going through a phone tree or waiting weeks. One simple monthly membership: no insurance billing, no copays, no surprises.
If you're Medicare-enrolled and wondering how this works, please reach out. I'm happy to walk you through it personally before you make any decisions.
If you'd like to learn more before you commit, I hold informal 20-minute Meet & Greet appointments on an ongoing basis. A relaxed conversation, no pressure, just a chance to get acquainted and see if this feels like the right fit.
Visit trianamd.com to learn more, or call and text me directly at (925) 722-5953. I'd love to hear from you.

Your thoughts are not just background noise.

They shape how you feel — and how you feel shapes what you do.

Here's something that took me years to fully appreciate in my work with patients: your body speaks first.

When stress, exhaustion, or overwhelm takes hold, your thinking brain goes quiet. What remains is a nervous system on high alert. Logic, clarity, and perspective can't reach you there.

So we start with the body. A breath. A pause. A moment of stillness. And suddenly — your brain can think again.

This is one of the reasons I take time in appointments to ask about stress, sleep, and how a patient is actually feeling — not just what their numbers show. The mind and the body are not separate stories.

What helps you find stillness when things feel heavy? I'd love to hear from you.

We are wired to connect. To belong. To love — and to be loved.

Love isn't only romantic. It's the quiet compassion you offer yourself on a hard day. The friend you call just to check in. The walk outside where you remember how good it feels to be part of something larger.

Love for yourself. Love for others. Love for the world around you.

These aren't soft extras. Research is clear: when we feel connected, we heal faster, think more clearly, and live longer. Isolation, on the other hand, carries real health consequences — as real as high blood pressure or poor sleep.

Connection is not a luxury. It is medicine.

At Triana MD, we ask about this. Not because it's on a checklist — but because it matters.

Who or what reminds you that you belong? I'd love to hear from you.

The best nutrition advice I give my patients fits in one line:

Eat colorful things that were recently alive.

No elaborate rules. No guilt. No forbidden list.

And here's something I want you to hear — something you may not hear often from a doctor:

Eating is one of life's great pleasures.

Slow down. Notice the flavors. Savor what's on your plate. Food isn't just fuel — it's culture, memory, connection, and joy. Some of the most important conversations I've had with patients have started with what they love to cook, or a dish their mother used to make.

Mindful eating isn't a diet. It's a way of being present with something you do every single day.

What's one meal this week you could truly savor? I'd love to hear about it.

Movement isn't just exercise — it's medicine for your brain.

Each time your body moves, something shifts. Blood flow increases. Mood lifts. Stress softens. Thinking sharpens.

You don't need a gym. You don't need a program. You just need your body — and you already have one.

Walk to your next appointment. Take the stairs. Step outside for five minutes between tasks. Stretch while you wait for the coffee to brew.

Movement doesn't have to be big to matter. It just has to happen.

Where will you move today? Share in the comments — I'd love to hear.

Sleep isn't a luxury. It's the foundation everything else is built on.

When I sit with patients and we explore the five pillars of wellbeing — how we eat, rest, move, love, and think — rest is almost always the one being sacrificed first.

One small shift worth trying: set a consistent wake time, even on weekends. Your body's internal clock responds to consistency more than total hours. It's a simple change, and many patients tell me it's one of the most useful things I've ever suggested.

What's your relationship with rest like? I'd love to hear from you in the comments.

Your well-being isn't one thing — it's five.

After 25 years of sitting across from patients, I've learned that when something feels off, it rarely lives in just one place. So I use a simple framework I come back to again and again:

How you eat.
How you rest.
How you move.
How you connect.
How you think.

Five dimensions. One hand. Yours.

Not a checklist — more like a compass. Some areas will feel strong. Others might signal that something needs attention. That's where the conversation starts.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing thoughts on each one. I'd love for you to follow along — and I'd love to hear which of these feels most alive for you right now.
