Heart of Georgia Hospice The Heart of Georgia Hospice Difference

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we are proud to be the only independent nonprofit hospice in the Middle Georgia area.

Heart of Georgia Hospice the only independent, non-profit, Faith-based ministry Hospice program in the Middle Georgia Area serving people of all faiths and beliefs since 1984. We offer comprehensive hospice services to support our patients, their families, and the community in meaningful and compassionate ways. My Story:
This unique program captures the life stories of our terminally-ill patients

on digital audio, as told in their own words. These recordings become cherished keepsakes, offering families the chance to forever hear their loved one’s voice and personal reflections. Casserole Ministry:
We provide meals to patients and families in need of extra support, especially for those without a church or community network. This is just one of the many ways we care for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Camp WINGS:
Each year, we host Camp WINGS, a free bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 who have lost a loved one. This special camp offers a safe space for healing, growth, and connection with peers who share similar experiences. Annual Memorial Service:
In December, we hold a touching Memorial Service to remember and honor the loved ones of those who have been part of our journey. This is a time for families to gather, reflect, and celebrate the lives of those we’ve cared for. Thrift Store:
Our Thrift Store, located on Watson Blvd behind the old Chick-fil-A in Warner Robins, provides critical support to our mission. Every purchase helps ensure we can continue offering free services to our patients and their families. Your contributions make a difference, as we never send a bill to our patients. Serving 10 Counties:
We proudly serve Houston, Macon-Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dooly, Macon, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, and Twiggs counties, providing compassionate, high-quality care where it’s needed most. We’re here to serve our community with heart, offering the highest standard of hospice care as we continue to make every moment matter for our patients and their families.

Something special is coming together, and this time our whole family was part of it.

Yesterday, we gathered again at the site of our new office, but this round was even more meaningful. Our Thrift Store team joined us, because our new space will bring hospice and the thrift store together under one roof for the very first time.

Just like before, our team took a moment to write meaningful quotes and scriptures directly on the frame. A quiet reminder that everything we build here is grounded in heart, faith, and the community we serve.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sharing pictures from this special day. One team, one mission, one home. Stay tuned!

We can't wait to open the doors to a space where care and community truly come together. πŸ—πŸ™

πŸ“° A VERY SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! πŸ“°

This year will be the 25th year Camp WINGS, our annual children's bereavement camp, has been held, and we felt it was time to create a NEW LOGO that reflects the Camp WINGS mission of giving support and hope to children in need.

Keeping with the theme of National Georgia Day, this new logo incorporates two pieces of imagery: the Northern Bobwhite and the Cherokee Rose, the state game bird and state flower of Georgia.

Pictured here are the new logo and an explanation of why we felt the Bobwhite and Cherokee Rose were fitting symbols for Camp WINGS.

The Bobwhite Quail is a resilient bird that has overcome much habitat loss, raises its young as a community, and bolts to the sky when in danger. Just like the children of Camp WINGS who must overcome so much, and through the support of a community, are taught how to spread their wings and fly when things get tough.

The Cherokee Rose is part of the history of the Trail of Tears. When the Cherokee faced the unjust hardship of being displaced from their home and were made to march to reservations out west, the Cherokee looked to help from above, asking for the strength to help their children survive. As legend goes, the next morning, a Cherokee Rose had bloomed in every spot on the trail where a Cherokee mother's tears had fallen. Since then, the Cherokee Rose has been as a symbol of resilience, hope, and survival. In the same way the Cherokee Rose brought hope to a people and gave them strength to care for their children, we have added the flower to our new Camp WINGS logo as a reminder that children often need the strength of adults to help guide them through difficult times.

We are proud to continue Camp WINGS and serve the children of our community. If you know a child who could benefit from Camp WINGS, go to https://heartofgahospice.org/camp-wings/ or call us at (478) 953-5161.

Camp WINGS 2026 will be held November 6-8 at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley.

Happy National Georgia Day! πŸ’œ Today we celebrate the state we are proud to call home.

Georgia's story runs deep. Founded in 1733, she was the 13th colony and the fourth state to enter the Union. James Oglethorpe established the first capital in Savannah, and over the years the seat of government moved through Augusta, Louisville, and Milledgeville before finally landing in Atlanta. From those early days to now, Georgia has grown into a place known for its resilience, its natural beauty, and its unmistakable Southern hospitality.
National Day Calendar

But Georgia has never been just cities and history books. It is red clay and pine forests, small towns and front porches, faith and family and neighbors who show up for one another. It is the kind of community where people still know each other's names and still bring a casserole when times get hard.

Heart of Georgia Hospice was founded right here, in the heart of Georgia, in 1984; and for more than 40 years we have been honored to serve the people of Middle Georgia. Across our 10-county region, our team walks alongside patients and families during life's most tender moments, offering comfort, dignity, and compassionate care close to home. This is our community, and these are our people.

The name says it all. We are the Heart of Georgia, and there is no place we would rather serve. To everyone across this great state, thank you for letting us be part of your story.

πŸ’œ Proud to be born, raised, and rooted right here in Georgia.
